Chris Argent is a hunter who happens to be Scott McCall's girlfriend's dad. They were rivals as the series starts but become close towards the end and trust each other. Chris is also dating Scott's mom, Melissa McCall.
Throughout Teen Wolf[]
In Wolf Moon, Scott first encountered Argent when he shot at him in the woods. After seeing Chris pick up Allison from school, Scott was horrified to see the man hunting him as his crush's father. They didn't interact until Second Chance at First Line, where Chris accidentally hit Scott with his car.
In Muted, Stiles asked Scott if he warned Argent about his sister Kate had been resurrected. Scott reveals that he sent a text message to Argent, asking for help, but he didn't have enough money to call France. In The Benefactor, Chris returned to Beacon Hills. Tracking Scott and his newly bitten Beta Liam Dunbar down in the woods near Lydia's lake house, Argent shot several flash arrows, scaring Liam off. Scott asked how he knew, Argent said he finally received the teen's text message. After a brief reunion, Argent set up several transmitters for Scott to corral Liam in a clearing up north. Scott asked what Argent was going to do, but the latter advised Scott that Liam was his Beta and that he would be able to reach him.
In The Last Chimera, Scott contacted Chris for his help going up with the Dread Doctors before being joined by Malia Tate and Stiles Stilinski. Chris told Malia and Scott to get down as he fired his high-powered rifle at the Dread Doctors but The Pathologist projects an electromagnetic shield from his fingertips which deflects the bullets. Argent keeps firing and tells Scott and Malia to run.
In Damnatio Memoriae, after his return, Chris realized the threat of the Beast of Gevaudan and that they would need Gerard for this. He gave his father yellow wolfsbane to cure Gerard from his condition. After being cured, Gerard mockingly stated that Chris was doing all of this to help Scott. However, Chris ignores his father's judgement about his friendship with Scott and demands to him about the La Bete du Gevaudan.
In The Sword and the Spirit, Liam and Scott explore the tunnels below the school, where they came across a snake sculpture that Mason encountered. Scott runs his finger across the snake, which turns into a large doorknob, opening to a room on the other side. Chris points his gun at Scott and Liam, thinking they are dread doctors. Scott catches Gerard's scent and accusingly looks at Argent, who is unhappy with bringing Gerard back as much as the boy is. Scott snaps, asking what Chris was thinking. Argent tells Scott that Gerard is the only one who knows about the folklore of the Beast of Gevaudan.
In A Credible Threat, Chris, Scott and Stiles follow Parrish around because he wakes up each morning with burned and bloodied clothes on. They follow Parrish towards the school, where he fights the Beast of Gevaudan. Chris noted that the beast was getting smarter.
In The Beast of Beacon Hills, Chris wants to tell Scott about the Beast's identity but Gerard tells him not to. Arriving at the school later that evening, Chris explains to Scott that the "man of Gevaudan" was Sebastien Valet.
In Apotheosis, Chris reveals to Gerard that he had been working with Scott in double-crossing Gerard. Chris gave Scott the spear that was needed to kill the Beast. Knowing his father would only want to immortalize his family name and not saving innocent lives, Chris revealed he only brought his father back because he was the only one who knew who the Beast was and how to kill it. Standing in between his father and his friends, Chris pulled a gun at Gerard and motivated Scott to leave. Both Scott and Liam hesitated to leave Chris alone with Gerard; however, Chris told the boys to go before it was too late.In The Wolves of War, Chris continued to help Scott and the rest of the McCall Pack in the fight against Monroe's Army. He later gloated to Gerard about how Scott manages to survive the yellow wolfsbane bullet and how he figured out how to defeat Gerard yet again. Two years into the future, Scott and Chris met up and track down the young Omega werewolf Alec. On their way to meeting the rest of the McCall Pack, Scott re-countered his story to Alec, mentioning that he has lost people he thought would be around for a long time. However, Scott also mentions coming to trust people he never thought he could, causing him to look at Chris, who was touched by what Scott had said.
