ā€œ We were the overlooked-- the Emissaries. It was a mistake that the Alphas should never have made, because I made an oath of my own: from virgins and warriors, from healers, philosophers and guardians, to loan me their power so I could teach these monsters that their monstrous actions would never be overlooked. ā€
ā€” Jennifer to Derek Hale in The Overlooked

Julia Baccari, more commonly known by the alias Jennifer Blake and The Darach was a major antagonist and supporting character in Season 3 of Teen Wolf. She was first introduced as the new English teacher at Beacon Hills High School who seemed very concerned about her students' grades.

However, in time, it was revealed that she was a former Druid Emissary to Kali, an Alpha Werewolf who killed her entire pack and left Julia for dead as well in order to join the Alpha Pack. Julia was only able to save herself by drawing on the small spark of power within the Nemeton to stay alive until she was finally found by the police in the nature preserve. She eventually recovered physically, but her face and body were mutilated beyond recognition by Kali's claws, and she began to have an identity crisis.

She then decided to get her revenge against the Alpha Pack by coming up a plan to destroy them, performing a series of human sacrifice rituals in order to gain the power necessary to achieve this goal. The first rituals were at least two mass sacrifices that involved compelling hundreds of crows to commit suicide to increase her power and allow her to use a form of glamour magic to make her appearance that of an unscarred, beautiful woman to match her new identity, Jennifer Blake. To gain the mystical power necessary to defeat the Alphas, Jennifer then began a Druid five-fold knot sacrifice ritual that required five sets of three human sacrifices: virgins, warriors, healers, philosophers, and guardians.

Despite the fact that she was only able to complete four of the five sets of sacrifices, she was still able to easily take down Kali, Ethan, and Aiden during a Full Moon; however, she did not have the power to take on Deucalion until the lunar eclipse hit its peak. Surprisingly, though she was overpowered at the last moment when Deucalion clawed out her throat, she managed to survive just long enough to make it back to the Nemeton, where she hoped that she could tap into the power Scott McCall, Allison Argent, and Stiles Stilinski had given it through their surrogate sacrifice ritual. Unfortunately, before Jennifer could make contact with the Nemeton, she was stopped by Peter Hale, who confirmed his plans to take Scott's True Alpha powers before he ripped her throat out a second time, killing her for good.

Early life[]

Almost nothing prior to Julia's life prior to becoming Jennifer Blake has been revealed. What is known is that she was trained to be a Druid and eventually became the Emissary to Kali's original pack. After Deucalion was blinded by Gerard Argent, he killed one of his Betas, Marco, in self-defense, and, upon learning that he could absorb their power, he killed his own pack, and began building the Alpha Pack, wanting to lead a pack of Alphas who, like him, had killed and stolen the power of their own packs.

After Ennis killed his own Betas and Emissary in order to join him, Kali decided that she wanted to be with him and made the decision to kill her pack as well. However, Deucalion insisted that his new recruits kill their Emissaries as well as their Betas, which, for Kali, meant killing Julia as well, even despite Kali's argument that she was harmless. ("Visionary")

After presumably killing her Betas, Kali went after Julia in the Beacon Hills Preserve, where she viciously mauled her face and body to nearly the point of death. However, Kali, who was conflicted about killing her from the start, elected to leave Julia to "die peacefully" of her already-inflicted wounds rather than giving her the killing blow, not realizing that it would ultimately lead to her survival. After Kali left, Julia, near-death, crawled across the preserve to the Nemeton, which had recently gained a spark of power from the unintentional virgin sacrifice of Paige Krasikeva, and used that power to hang onto life until she could be found by Sheriff Stilinski and his deputies.

She was then brought to the hospital for emergency surgery, where what was perceived as a freak accident occurred in the operating roomā€”hundreds of crows flew through the windows of the hospital toward the OR, killing themselves in what was believed to be a mass suicide. However, it was later revealed that Julia used her Druid powers to create the sacrifice to give her more power to heal and to eventually gain the ability to cast a glamour over herself to gain the appearance of a young, beautiful, unscarred woman.

After she recovered, she made the decision to get her revenge on the Alpha Pack in the name of anyone who has ever been their victim, eventually becoming a high school English teacher and taking the new name Jennifer Blake, which was similar enough to her true name to help her retain a sense of self. In August 2011, she took a job at Beacon Hills High School, likely after learning that the Alpha Pack intended to recruit newly ascended Hale Alpha Werewolf Derek Hale and potential True Alpha Scott McCall to their ranks. Jennifer Blake was one of the main antagonists of Season 3. Although Jennifer was initially assumed to simply be a English teacher and a love interest of Derek Hale, neither the audience nor the main characters would learn that she was actually the Darach until The Girl Who Knew Too Much. This fact should be kept in mind when reading about Jennifer's actions as the Darach in this section.

In Tattoo, Jennifer made her first appearance at Beacon Hills High School for the first day of the 2011-2012 school year. She first sent a mass text message to everyone in her first period junior English class that had the last passage of Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, the first novel they would be reading in class that semester. She then walked into the classroom, explaining the meaning of the text before pointing out that it would be the last time any of them used their phones in class and cheerfully asking them to turn them off.

Before the class could get underway, the Principal came into the classroom with a note saying that Scott McCall had been called out of class. As he was leaving, Jennifer approached him in the hallway and stated that while she was sure his mother, Melissa McCall, had a good reason for calling Scott out of class, she was concerned about him already missing the first day of school, as she had looked over his record and had caught up on his history of absences and poor grades. When Scott assured her that he had plans to do much better in school this year before he left, she seemed amused by his enthusiasm and his use of the word "ephemeral," which was part of his PSAT vocabulary study.

Later that afternoon in class, Stiles Stilinski, Lydia Martin, and Allison Argent were listening to Jennifer's lecture on Heart of Darkness when suddenly, a crow flew into the wall of windows on the far side of the classroom, leaving a bloody smudge behind and startling everyone in the class. Jennifer looked horrified as she walked over to the windows and peered out of them to find that hundreds and hundreds of crows were flying toward the school as well. She shrieked at everyone to get down before rushing to hide behind her desk with several students, just as those same crows began flying through the windows, shattering them and showering the students in broken glass.

When it was all over, Jennifer appeared to be shell-shocked by this bizarre occurrence, but it would later be revealed that she was the one who summoned the crows and compelled them to commit mass suicide in a ritual to gain more power to carry out her five-fold knot sacrifices.

In Chaos Rising, Jennifer, as the Darach, showed up at the party held at Heather's house, where she captured Heather while the young girl waited for Stiles Stilinski to return with condoms so the two could have sex, though neither her Darach form nor her glamoured Jennifer form were seen. To make it easier to capture Heather, Jennifer made her hallucinate that the wine bottles in the shelves around her were exploding and falling at her feet before the Darach pulled her through the nearby window.

In Fireflies, Jennifer stayed late at the school to grade papers the night of the full moon, eventually making the mistake of going down to the boiler room to get more school supplies just before Derek Hale, Scott McCall, Chris Argent, and Isaac Lahey enacted their plan to capture the full-moon-crazed Werewolves Vernon Boyd and Cora Hale.

It wasn't until after Derek and Scott locked Boyd and Cora in the boiler room that they realized that Jennifer had accidentally been locked in with them. Derek, already feeling guilty about Boyd and Cora's situation, made the decision to go in and save Jennifer from the two rabid Werewolves by distracting them, allowing them to claw at him so they would be too busy to go after her. Afterward, Derek walked over to where Jennifer had been hiding and extended his hand to her to help her to her feet, and though she looked scared, she gave him a small relieved smile. It remains unknown whether or not this was part of her larger plan.

At some point during the events of this evening, Jennifer, as the Darach, caused Emily to have hallucinations that scarab beetles were crawling all over her before she was captured, and she also captured and killed a lifeguard wearing a purity ring. The bodies of these two victims, as well as Heather's body, were found by the police and Lydia Martin, respectively, which led Stiles Stilinski to realize that someone was performing human sacrifices of virgins using the "three-fold death," which involved bashing in the victim's head, strangling them, and slitting their throat.

In Unleashed, Jennifer arrived at school several days after the events of Fireflies and it was clear that she was still visibly traumatized by what she had witnessed. She suddenly sensed that someone was following her and quickly rushed down the hallway toward her classroom. Once inside, she slammed the door shut and breathed a sigh of relief, but when she turned around, she was startled to find Derek waiting for her by her desk. Frightened, she grabbed the closest makeshift weapon she can find, a wooden pointer for the chalkboard, and held it out like a sword before anxiously demanding to know what he wanted. When Derek remained quiet, she asked him if he planned to threaten her with the fact that no one would believe her if she revealed what she saw during his fight with Cora and Boyd, or if she planned to scare or kill her.

However, Jennifer was quickly surprised when, instead of threatening her, Derek kindly asked her if she was okay. When she asked him if he meant physically or emotionally, he gave her a look, and she confessed with an embarrassed expression that her therapist would suggest that she had not been emotionally okay in some time. Derek assured her that he believed she would be just fine, which led Jennifer to joke that it was easy for him to say, since he has never taught high school English classes, and she was about to lecture two dozen students on The Crucible by Arthur Miller. Derek smugly retorted that she should begin the lecture with the fact that the novel is an allegory for McCarthyism, clearly trying to impress her with his literary knowledge, but Jennifer assumed that his comment was supposed to be a subtle hint that she shouldn't tell anyone about what she saw before assuring him that she planned to keep his secret.

Satisfied with this answer, Derek walked past her to leave, but before he could, Jennifer asked him who he was, and he introduced himself by name, causing Jennifer to do the same before he left the school. Once he was gone, she smiled, indicating that she was starting to develop romantic feelings for the Werewolf.

Later that afternoon, Jennifer started another English class, which included Scott, Ethan and Aiden, and she remarked that she knew it was the last class of the day and that she was just as eager to get out of there as they were as she passed out papers. A few minutes later, the class heard a revving engine in the hallway that caused Aiden to rush out of the room, with the rest of the class soon following after him out of curiosity.

Isaac Lahey, who had helped Allison Argent hot-wire Aiden's motorcycle to get back at him for his earlier "prank" on them, gave the bike back to Aiden at his demand, only for Jennifer to rush out, see Aiden with the motorcycle, and assume that he was the one who drove it in the school. She looked exasperated by this behavior and reminded Aiden that this was most certainly going to result in a suspension, much to his fury.

During the events of this episode, Jennifer, as the Darach, captured Kyle, an Air Force ROTC student at Beacon Hills High School, outside of the animal clinic, as well as a band teacher, and Adrian Harris (the latter two of whom were both in the military prior to becoming teachers) from the high school. They were all sacrificed in the same manner (three-fold death) as the three virgins in the previous episode, and Alan Deaton, Stiles Stilinski, and Lydia Martin eventually realized that the killer was a Darach, or a Dark Druid, after Harris left a clue behind for them on his desk.

In Frayed, Jennifer didn't appear until the end of the episode, when a gravely injured Derek (who had fallen three stories and landed on an escalator after tackling Ennis in a battle against the Alpha Pack at the abandoned mall the day before) appeared and pressed his bloody hand against the driver's side window of her car before passing out on the tarmac in the parking lot.

In Motel California, Jennifer managed to bring Derek back to his loft, though she struggled to carry him through the door due to him being much larger and heavier than her. She began to panic when he started to slip through his arms, and despite her attempts to wake him, she accidentally dropped him on the floor.

After somehow managing to get him onto his bed, she began to carefully remove his shirt to assess his wounds and was horrified by the extent of his injuries. When Derek, still barely conscious, weakly asked her how bad it was, Jennifer nervously joked that her gasp could have been for his "unbelievable physique" had it not been for all of the claw gashes across his torso that were bleeding black blood. Suddenly, Derek fell unconscious once again, and Jennifer, terrified, begged him not to die before resting her head on his chest, taking comfort in the fact that his heart was still beating before quietly remarking that this wasn't how she imagined their first date would end.

Some time later, Jennifer was anxiously biting her nails as she looked out the window when Derek finally awoke and tried to sit up. She asked him if he really wanted to do that given his condition, but Derek insisted that he needed to find "the others" (namely Scott, Isaac, Boyd, Cora, and Peter) since they believed him to be dead.

Jennifer argued that it was a good thing by referencing classic literature where the characters "used a false death to their advantage," such as Les Miserables, Tale of Two Cities, and Romeo and Juliet, and when Derek insisted that the pack(s) needed to know the truth, Jennifer reminded him of the fact that the extent of his injuries basically made him "one giant open wound" and added that she wasn't entirely sure Derek wasn't dead, which exasperated Derek.

After some time had passed, Jennifer knelt in front of Derek and remarked that she couldn't find bandages or any kind of first aid equipment in the loft, causing Derek to wryly reply that he usually doesn't need them. When she asked me what they needed to treat his wounds, Derek cryptically stated that he needed "time" before adding that she shouldn't be there. Confused, Jennifer asked him why, but Derek reminded her that she didn't know him or anything about him, leading Jennifer to suggest that she had a feeling about him.

Derek continued to insist that her "feeling" shouldn't be a good one because everyone around him gets hurt. Jennifer, undeterred, admitted that she had been hurt before, but Derek argued that it hadn't been like this. Despite Derek's insistence that she leave, Jennifer stared him in the eyes before slowly leaning toward him and kissing him. Derek did not respond at first, but when they pulled apart and stared at each other, Derek leaned forward and kissed Jennifer more passionately, leading the two to start making out.

All the while, Jennifer, as the Darach, was astral-projecting to the Glen Capri Motel in order to observe Scott, Isaac, Vernon Boyd, and Ethan Steiner, as she wanted to make sure that her plan to expose them to purple wolfsbane and cause them devastating suicide-inducing hallucinations was successful.

As Scott doused himself in gasoline and prepared to kill himself by setting himself on fire with a lit road flare, lamenting the fact that all of the bad things that had happened to his loved ones were his fault for becoming a Werewolf, including Derek's "death," Jennifer was having sex with the very-alive Derek at his loft, surreptitiously healing Derek's wounds with her Darach powers in the process.

When Stiles managed to talk Scott out of committing suicide by throwing the road flare aside, Jennifer used atmokinesis to create a gust of wind that blew the flare into the puddle of gasoline surrounding Scott and Stiles. Fortunately for them, Lydia tackled them out of the way just before they could be consumed by the explosion caused by the flare rolling into the gasoline, but when Lydia looked backward at the huge fireball, she could see Jennifer's true form (albeit in astral-mode) in the center of the blaze, though she only knew the person as being the still-mysterious Darach.

When the Beacon Hills Cyclones team (plus tag-alongs Allison and Lydia) headed back to Beacon Hills on their bus, Lydia noticed something on Coach Finstock's white shirt under his whistle and took it off of him to take a closer look. She was then shocked to learn that powdered purple wolfsbane had been put into the whistle, which caused it to be released into the air and inhaled by the Werewolves on the bus and had caused their horrific hallucinations; it was then implied that Jennifer/the Darach had purposely put the wolfsbane there to weaken and/or kill them off, though her motives for doing so were not revealed until later.

At some point prior to the start of Currents, Jennifer, as the Darach, poisoned Danny Mahealani with mistletoe, forcing him to eat such a huge amount of it that eventually caused him to develop a pleural effusion, or a large bolus of air in the pleural cavity that prevented Danny from breathing properly and causing his trachea to be shifted to the right.

While Danny was being treated by Melissa McCall at Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital, Jennifer astral projected into the car of Dr. Hilyard, who was replacing the mysteriously missing on-call doctor and was on her way to work. She used her Darach zoopathy to cause a swarm of moths to fly into Dr. Hilyard's car, where they flew at her face and distracted her so much that she nearly wrecked her car, making it easy for the Darach to capture her. The doctor's still-running car slowly drove into the hospital parking lot only meters away from where Scott and Ethan were arguing.

The next day, Jennifer appeared in the junior-level chemistry class as the substitute teacher, where she suspiciously announced that she would be taking over for Adrian Harris and accidentally stated that he was "missing" before correcting herself and saying he was "sick." While she lectured the class on the day's topic, Scott and Stiles discussed the fact that the police had found the body of the on-call doctor who went missing before Dr. Hilyard's disappearance and that, unlike the Darach's earlier sacrifices, the man was asphyxiated instead of being strangled.

Just then, Alan Deaton, who had just found a swarm of moths at the animal clinic, called Scott and informed him that he was going to be taken by the Darach. By the time Scott made it to the clinic to try to save him, Deaton had already been taken, as determined by Sheriff Stilinski and Tara Graeme. Some time later, Deaton was brought to the vault in First National Bank, where she bound his wrists with rope before hanging him from the ceiling by his bound wrists.

Back at Beacon Hills High School, Scott, who was desperately trying to figure out where Deaton was being kept in order to rescue him before he was killed, was approached by Deucalion, who informed him that he wasn't the one "slashing up innocent people, praying to ancient gods, collecting herbs, and whatever the hell else Druids are supposed to do," referencing the Darach's sacrifices, before giving Scott a clue: "Let the current guide you." Unbeknownst to Scott at the time, this was referring to Jennifer's manipulation of the telluric currents that made up a grid throughout the lands of Beacon Hills in order to gain power.

A short time later, Allison called Scott to the Argent Apartment, where she revealed that her father, Chris Argent, had been secretly tracking the Darach, marking on a map all of the locations where the Darach's sacrifice victims had been captured and were their bodies were found, as well as also marking his predictions for where the rest of the victims would be captured and dropped in the future.

Meanwhile, after looking through Danny's things, Stiles found Danny's paper on telluric currents, leading Stiles, Scott, Lydia, and Cora to realize that the telluric currents and the map Argent made were the same, and that all of the Darach's captures and body-drops had been on the currents, meaning that they were killed in the midway point between them.

Upon realizing Deaton was being held captive at the bank vault, Cora received a text informing them that Derek's plan against the Alpha Pack failed, leading them to split upā€”Scott went to First National Bank to save Deaton and deal with the Darach while Cora, Lydia, and Stiles helped Derek, Isaac, and Boyd against Kali, Ethan and Aiden.

At some point after Jennifer, as the Darach, captured Deaton and suspended him from his wrists in the bank vault, she was captured in her glamoured human form by Kali, Ethan, and Aiden to use as leverage against Derek, indicating they somehow knew about the new relationship between the two. The three Alphas then brought her to Derek's loft, where the twins held Jennifer in a choke-hold while Kali informed Derek that if he wanted them to spare Jennifer's life, then he needed to fight her one-on-one, without any interference from his Betas, an ultimatum to which Derek had no choice but to agree.

Jennifer was forced to watch as Derek and Kali battled each other, and when Stiles, Lydia, and Cora arrived to turn the power back on, causing the electrical cables in the water-flooded loft to electrocute Derek, Kali, and Boyd while Isaac covered Jennifer protectively with his body. The two then watched in horror as Boyd was killed when the twins forced Derek to impale Boyd (who was being held up by Kali) with his claws, as the massive electrical shock he receive had disabled his accelerated healing ability and prevented him from recovering from the wounds before it could kill him.

Before leaving, Kali gave Derek an ultimatumā€”kill his own pack and join the Alpha Pack before the next full moon, or Kali would return to kill all of them, Jennifer included. Surprisingly enough, Kali was unable to recognize Jennifer's scent as being that of her former Emissary and close friend Julia Baccari, suggesting that Jennifer's glamouring power is strong enough to also change her scent as well.

In The Girl Who Knew Too Much, Jennifer, in her Darach form, lured Sheriff's Deputy Tara Graeme to the high school after putting in an anonymous call. After instructing the students, including Danny Mahealani, who were practicing for the next night's recital, to leave, Tara attempted to call for backup but only got static due to Jennifer's powers blocking the signal.

She saw a body seemingly being dragged into the boys locker room and followed it inside to investigate, demanding that whomever was there needed to identify themselves. When she heard the shower turning on, she rounded the corner to find that she was hallucinating and that it was her own body that had been dragged inside and left under the running shower. Just then, Jennifer, in Darach form, used her garrote to strangle Tara to death before leaving her right where the hallucination form of herself had been dropped.

The next day, Jennifer, in her glamoured human form, lectured her junior literature class on the usage of idioms and riddles. She became uncomfortable when she saw Lydia Martin mindlessly drawing what appeared to be a tree in her notebook and nervously commented her on her art skills, making it clear that she was alarmed by what Lydia could know about her. After she recovered from her shock by using "Seeing the whole board" as an example of an idiom, Stiles Stilinski identified the idiom as being a reference to chess, and when Jennifer asked Stiles if he played, he replied that his father, Noah Stilinski, did, a fact that she seemed to file away for later.

Unbeknownst to Jennifer, Stiles and his best friend Scott McCall were brainstorming about the identity of the Darach and had come to the conclusion that the Darach was a former Emissary to a member of the Alpha Pack; they approached Ethan Steiner with this theory, who confirmed that Deucalion required them to kill their Emissaries as well as their Betas, with the exception of Marin Morrell, the Emissary of Deucalion's original pack and the current Alpha Pack Emissary.

Meanwhile, at the Argent Apartment, Allison Argent and Isaac Lahey snooped around Allison's father Argent's office, where they once again looked over the map that he had made with the locations where the Darach's human sacrifice victims had been captured, sacrificed, and dropped written in UV ink. While they were looking over it, they realized that the Celtic five-fold knot, a Druid symbol, was carved into the top of his desk, where he had written five words in UV ink that were revealed with Argent's blacklight: virgins, warriors, healers, philosophers, and, in the center circle, guardians, revealing the final two trios of sacrifice victims that the Darach would commit.

During a break between classes, Jennifer, in her glamoured human form, rushed outside the high school and through the tunnel, where she met up with a tired-looking Derek Hale. The two hugged tightly and kissed for a long moment before they pulled away, which was when Jennifer questioned him on his days-long absence and informed him that "I needed to be alone" was a poor excuse.

However, seeing the pained look on his face, Jennifer realized that he was still mourning the death and unintentional power theft of Derek's Beta Vernon Boyd as a result of Kali, Ethan and Aiden's machinations and walked back her previous statement as being unkind. Derek explained that he stayed close enough to ensure that she was safe, but Jennifer argued that it didn't feel that way due to the fact that the "murder twins" were walking around the school like nothing happened.

Just then, the late bell rang, leading Jennifer to reluctantly begin to return to the school for her next class. Derek asked her to take the rest of the day off and spend it with him, but Jennifer insisted that she couldn't because she not only had classes to teach, but she was also the organizer of that evening's memorial recital to honor those in Beacon Hills who had recently been killed, a bold statement to make considering the fact that she was the one who killed them. Derek and Jennifer kissed one last time before Jennifer turned and made her way back to the school.

Some time later, Jennifer was present after Lydia Martin was unconsciously drawn to Mr. Westover's classroom, where the Celtic five-fold knot had been sketched on the chalkboard, and screamed. Lydia insisted that the history teacher had been taken like the others, but Jennifer, already suspicious of what Lydia knew about her role in the killings due to her doodles of a tree, attempted to discredit her theory about Mr. Westover's absence by suggesting that he left early.

The frustrated Lydia retorted that they all said the same thing about Adrian Harris, who had not been seen in days; at a loss for options, Lydia added that she was psychic in an attempt to give her claims some merit, but when Jennifer seemed skeptical, she screeched, "I'm something!"

In the doorway, Ethan turned to Scott and asked him what the pattern was between Mr. Westover, a teacher, and Tara Graeme, a Sheriff's deputy in terms of the Darach's sacrifices; though Scott did not know the answer at the time, Stiles, who knew Tara personally, revealed that she was a teacher before she became a police officer and that this meant the current trio of sacrifices were philosophers, or, in this case, humans with high levels of intelligence.

After hearing about Mr. Westover's capture, Allison and Isaac, still in Argent's office at the Argent Apartment, used the map to figure out where he was likely to be sacrificed and drove to the Electric Substation in hopes of saving him before he was killed by the Darach. However, the two were too late, and managed to catch a glimpse of the Darach in her scarred, mutilated form as she strangled the teacher to death with her garrote. They were saved from the Darach's attack by Argent, who appeared with his two Desert Eagle handguns and shot at her enough to drive her away. Realizing that the final philosopher sacrifice would likely be a teacher, the three headed back to the high school, as they knew all of the teachers would be at the memorial recital.

Meanwhile, Noah Stilinski went to see Melissa McCall at Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital, where they discovered that an event similar to the crows committing mass suicide at the high school years prior, when they found a woman named Julia Baccari mauled in the woods, indicating that this was Jennifer's original identity.

At some point, Jennifer stole Aiden Steiner's phone and used it to text Lydia to lure her away from the recital and into an empty classroom. As soon as Lydia walked in the door, she heard the ritualistic Darach chanting before being bludgeoned in the head by Jennifer in her glamoured form. When Lydia came to, looking bleary-eyed as she gently touched the bleeding wound on her hairline from where she got hit, she found Jennifer crouched in front of her, re-wrapping her garrote. She asked Jennifer what she was doing, and Jennifer smirked before stating that she was doing what was necessary, explaining that while the Beacon Hills Packs recognized that what she was doing were sacrifices, they didn't truly understand the word.

When Lydia begged her to stop, Jennifer said she wished she could, but that Lydia didn't know the Alpha Pack like she did. Lydia continued to try to plead with her, but Jennifer went on to say that Lydia wasn't one of the philosopher sacrificesā€”she was just a girl who knew too much. Jennifer prepared to slit Lydia's throat to kill her while simultaneously using her Darach powers to cause a piano string to snap so the recital pianist, the final philosopher, was killed as well; the pianist bled to death while also vomiting mistletoe, revealing that Jennifer did the same thing to her as she did to Danny Mahealani and Kyle's dog, Bullet.

Just as Jennifer was about to slit Lydia's throat, Lydia screamed with such force that the Werewolves, who were scattered across the town, heard them and were forced to cover their ears, even Derek Hale, who was all the way at Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital. Jennifer looked at Lydia in awe and deduced that she had no idea who she really was before revealing that Lydia is a Banshee, also known as the Wailing Woman. She then compared Lydia to herself, quoting Shakespeare by stating that they "look like the innocent flower, but be the serpent under't."

She then began duct-taping her wrists and ankles to the chair Lydia was sitting in as Lydia begged for mercy, but before she could attempt to kill her again, Sheriff Stilinski appeared and aimed his sidearm at her. He brought up the story he learned about earlier in the day, which confirmed that Julia was indeed Jennifer, though Jennifer threw her knife at him, which embedded itself into his left shoulder. Jennifer snidely retorted that she should have started with the philosopher sacrifices so that she could have used the supernaturally-enhanced intelligence, knowledge, and strategy to plan the other sacrifices.

When Noah decided to shoot her, he briefly considered aiming for the chest before instead going for the leg, but, unfortunately for him, her leg healed itself within seconds as a result of the healer sacrifices. Scott McCall caught Jennifer in a stand-off with Noah and tried to fight against her but was woefully overpowered due to the superhuman strength she gained from the warrior sacrifices. While Scott was recovering, Jennifer walked through the various groups of sacrifices she has committed and intended to commit, smashing his Sheriff's badge in her hand before pinning him against the wall and kissing him, dropping her glamour so that he could see her true face when she pulled away.

Though Stiles Stilinski found them and attempted to get in to help, she easily shoved the desk at the door, preventing him from coming inside and leaving him helpless as she disappeared with his father.

In The Overlooked, Jennifer, knowing that Scott and Stiles would soon be able to blow her cover, immediately went to Derek's loft in an attempt to turn Derek against them. As a thunderstorm broke out, Jennifer rushed into the loft and explained that something happened at the recital and that he needed to hear it from her first before he heard it from Scott and Stiles, who she knew would likely be trying to tell him things that he couldn't believe. She demanded to know if he trusted her, she kissed him for a long moment, just long enough to sense that he had already been turned against her.

Realizing that Scott and Stiles were already there, she asked him if they told him that it was she who was taking people, leading Scott and Stiles to walk out of the adjacent room so Scott could correct her by saying she was the one who was killing people. Jennifer attempted to play the clueless teacher role to make it seem like the suggestion that she was committing human sacrifices by slitting people's throats was ridiculous, but Stiles, not buying it, demanded to know where his father, Stilinski, was. Jennifer responded "How should I know?" before begging Derek to tell her that she didn't believe them.

When Derek, conflicted, asked her if she knew where Sheriff Stilinski was, Jennifer denied it, leading Scott to counter, "Ask her why she almost killed Lydia." Once again, Jennifer denied knowing anything about what happened to Lydia, and when Derek asked her what it was that she did know, Jennifer retorted that she knew that Scott and Stiles, for whatever reason, were filling his heads with lies that they couldn't prove.

Scott confidently asked her what she would do if they could before pulling out a jar of a yellow powder, which he stated was given to him by his boss, Alan Deaton, and which he was told could be used both as a poison and a cure. Realizing that the jar was full of powdered mistletoe, Jennifer attempted to fight back, but was unable to prevent Scott from tossing the powder onto her and disrupting her Glamouring power, allowing all of them to see her true, mutilated form before it returned to her normally beautiful appearance.

Derek, furious, grabbed Jennifer in a choke-hold and lifted her up off the floor as he demanded to know who she is, but Jennifer, struggling to breath, insisted that they needed her because she was the only one who could save Derek's sister Cora Hale, who had also been poisoned by Jennifer by mistletoe. At Jennifer's request, Derek called his uncle Peter to verify that Cora was, in fact, sick due to mistletoe poisoning, and when he realized she was right, he prepared to kill her. Jennifer continued to argue through his strangulation that Cora's life was in his hands, as was the life of Stilinski, causing both Scott and Stiles to convince Derek to drop her.

The four then set off for Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital, where Cora had been admitted as a patient and where Peter was caring for her. On the way there, Jennifer, feeling the need to explain herself, insisted that he needed to know that she wasn't doing this because she had toā€”it was because she wanted to. She went on to say that she could go on the run at any time, and as a result of the powers she had collected, they wouldn't have an easy time stopping her. Despite this, she stated that she didn't want his sister to die, and that she's only doing what needed to be done. When Derek angrily ordered her to shut up, Jennifer argued that he needed to hear the whole story, particularly how connected they were.

The four then ran through the rain into the hospital, where they told Melissa McCall that they were there for Cora. Melissa anxiously informed them that the building needed to be completely evacuated in thirty minutes as a result of the bad storm. They then made their way into the elevator, where Derek clutched tightly to Jennifer's arm to ensure she wouldn't run, though Jennifer insisted that she was going to help and that he didn't "have to keep her on a leash."

Just as they got out of the elevator, they began looking for Cora's room, where they became alarmed when they saw several drops of black blood on the floor leading to it. Suddenly, the double doors at the end of the hall opened as Peter was thrown backward down the length of the hall, where he landed at their feet. It was then revealed that Ethan and Aiden, who had merged into their "Voltron-Wolf" form, was the one who had attacked Peter, who then informed them that they had a "big problem."

Behind the twins was Cora, still unconscious and crumpled on the floor. The group split up, with Derek and Scott going up against the twins while Peter and Stiles went to save Cora, leaving Jennifer unattended and allowing her to get away by running back into the elevator. Derek and Scott realized they lost her right at the last minute as the elevator doors closed, though the look on Jennifer's face seemed to indicate a small amount of regret. When the elevator doors opened on the bottom floor, she was alarmed to see Kali and Deucalion waiting for her when she stepped out. She nearly got hit in the face with Deucalion's knife-tipped cane, which he threw at her like a javelin and which embedded itself into the wall next to her.

Just as Jennifer walked backwards into the elevator again, she frantically hit the button to close the doors, but was not fast enoughā€”Kali managed to run quickly enough to reach the elevator before the doors closed and attempted to open them with her heightened strength. However, before she could do so, Jennifer's eyes turned pure white as she channeled the super-strength she gained from her warrior sacrifices and slammed her hands against the doors with such force that Kali was thrown backwards down the hallway.

Derek, Scott, Stiles, Peter, and the still-unconscious Cora took refuge in a nearby operating room, though the Werewolves' heightened senses lead them to realize that the twins were still close. Derek and Stiles went on to get into a verbal altercation when Derek demanded that Stiles stay quiet after he pointed out that Jennifer was nowhere to be found, leading Stiles to angrily retort, "Me, be quiet? Me? Are you telling me what to do when your psychotic, mass-murdering girlfriend-- the second one you've dated, by the way-- has got my dad somewhere waiting to be ritually sacrificed?"

Just as Peter and Scott began debating whether or not Cora was legitimately dying from the mistletoe poisoning and if there was anything they could do to at least stabilize her condition, Jennifer walked through the doors and informed them that there was nothing they could do, as she was the only one who had the knowledge and power to save her, and she was the only one who knew where Sheriff Stilinski was. She then made her offerā€”she would save Cora and Stilinski, but only after she was out of the hospital and safe from the Alphas who had infiltrated the hospital to kill her.

Their argument was interrupted by the sound of Melissa's voice over the loud speaker, having been threatened into announcing Deucalion's ultimatumā€”if they brought Jennifer to the ER reception area in ten minutes, then everyone else could leave the hospital in peace. Jennifer, unnerved and anxious about this newest hitch in her plans, immediately began assuring them that the Alphas wouldn't harm Melissa, but when Derek called her out, Jennifer gave Scott a knowing look and pointed out that he knew why what she was saying was the truth.

Jennifer then announced to the group Deucalion's ultimate game plan: he wanted the perfect pack, which meant having the rarest of Alphas, a True Alpha, join their ranks. She then revealed that Scott, who had the potential to rise to this status, was their main goal, and they were mainly recruiting Derek in order to pave the way for Scott.

Despite the shock of what Jennifer just told them, Scott insisted that it meant nothing, and that what was important was getting Jennifer and the rest of them out of the building safely. When Peter brought up the fact that the Alphas weren't going to let them just leave with Jennifer, Scott offered to distract them, which Derek pointed out meant fighting them before offering to help him with it.

Jennifer, knowing that Derek would be the easiest of the group to manipulate due to the nature of their relationship, stipulated that she wasn't going anywhere without him; much to everyone's surprise, it was Peter who offered to fight the Alphas with Scott, though he stated he would prefer to do so with an advantage. This led the group to once again split up, with Peter and Scott acting as the distraction by fighting the twins while Derek, Jennifer, Stiles, and the still-unconscious Cora heading toward the ambulance bay in the basement.

Unfortunately, the latter four made it down to where the ambulance was waiting, only to find that Kali had killed the driver, leaving Derek and Jennifer cornered by the toe-clawed Alpha while Stiles grabbed the unconscious Cora and hid them both in the back of the ambulance. Kali, having now realized Jennifer's true identity, taunted her by spinning the ambulance's keys on her finger and sing-songing Jennifer's real name, "Julia. As soon as Kali remarked that it really was her, Jennifer whispered to Derek that he couldn't take her on his own; agreeing with her, Derek decided that they would instead make a run for it and heading back inside the way they came.

Their only option for refuge was in the nearby elevator, where they had just begun to ascend to the ground level when the power suddenly went out, as Deucalion had blackmailed Melissa into doing so. Concerned, Derek manually opened the elevator doors, only to find to his horror that they were stuck between levels. He then began brainstorming ways to get out; when Derek settled on climbing out of the service hatch, Jennifer declared it to be useless, because since it locked from the outside, the noise necessary to break through it would give away their position. Derek argued that the Alphas already knew where they were, but Jennifer pointed out that while they did know they got into the elevator, they don't yet know if they made it out. After another minute or two of frustrated debate, Derek ultimately gave up and pulled out his phone in order to text one of the others to come up with a plan.

Some time later, Jennifer, knowing that she and Derek were trapped in the confined space of the elevator for the time being, took advantage of these circumstances in order to try to once again gain his allegiance. She began by saying that she knew what he was thinking (specifically, that he was thinking that she was using him, that everything that has happened between them is a lie, and/or that she is an "evil bitch"), but hoped that he wasn't thinking the most superficial thought, which was "Is that her real face?" in regards to what the mistletoe revealed when it was tossed on her by Scott earlier. However, Derek remained silent and did not respond.

Down in the hospital's morgue, Deucalion, having also figured out Jennifer's true identity, asked Kali about her, forcing Kali to reveal their past relationship. Kali and Jennifer's history with each other was then revealed through stories told by Kali to Deucalion and by Jennifer to Derek in their respective locations. Jennifer revealed that her real name is Julia Baccari and remarked that she should have probably picked a name with different initials, as she read somewhere that people typically choose aliases that are subconsciously derivative of their original names due to their inability to completely let go of their identity.

Though Jennifer agreed that names are very tied to a person's sense of self, she stated that, for her, a person's face is even more tied to one's identity, which she lost when her face became mutilated beyond recognition. When Jennifer guessed that Derek was curious about what really happened to her, Derek insisted that he didn't care and that he had already figured it out himselfā€”she was the Emissary to one of the Alphas' original packs, they tried to kill her along with the rest of the Alpha's Betas, and she survived despite being mauled nearly to death. Although Jennifer confirmed that the story was more or less true, she revealed that she was Kali's Emissary and was the only one she couldn't kill.

In flashbacks, Jennifer was laying on the forest floor in the nature preserve after Kali, who was standing above her with blood splattered over her face, has critically wounded her via mauling. Kali, in conversation with Deucalion, confirmed that she never wanted to kill Jennifer, and that she believed her to be harmless, though she reminded him that she did everything she was asked in order to join the Alphas. Just as Jennifer said to Derek, Kali also confirmed that she left Jennifer to die "peacefully" rather than giving her the killing blow.

Jennifer finished her story by highlighting the connection that she and Derek sharedā€”Jennifer, fighting for her life, had crawled over to the Nemeton, whose power had been fading but had recently been replenished after the sacrifice of a virgin, Derek's teenage girlfriend, Paige Krasikeva, whom he mercy-killed at the roots of the Nemeton after her body rejected the Bite. It was this power that allowed Jennifer to survive her wounds, and she credited Derek for saving her life through the spark of power he unintentionally gave the sacred tree.

Afterward, Jennifer made a parallel between their current situation to the Norse myth of Frigg and her son Baldr's death from being killed by a mistletoe dart, stating that, in this comparison, the Druid Emissaries were the overlooked, just like mistletoe, a mistake that that she believed the Alpha Pack should never have made. She then said that, like Frigg, she made oaths with the human trios she sacrificed that allowed them to loan her their power to defeat the Alphas once and for all.

When Derek reminded her that she was killing innocent people to achieve this goal, Jennifer retorted that he had as well, as she knew the real color of his Werewolf eyes and what it meant (meaning that, before he was an Alpha, his eyes became blue due to taking the life of an innocent human). Despite this jab at his past, Derek insisted that the Alpha Pack couldn't be beaten, but Jennifer asked him if he was truly sure of that before bringing up the last thing that his Beta, Vernon Boyd, said to him before his death about what happens to Werewolves on a lunar eclipse.

Though Jennifer conceded that Derek didn't have time to tell him, she made it clear that she knew that Derek was aware of what happened, and, upon being asked the answer, Derek replied that Werewolves lose their powers during the total lunar eclipse. Jennifer smirked at this answer, implying she planned to use the eclipse to defeat Deucalion once and for all.

Just after the group's plan to sneak Jennifer out of the hospital by having her trade clothes with Allison Argent in order to trick them into pursuing the young Huntress instead, Jennifer switched into her true Darach form and attacked Derek, knocking him out so she could escape the elevator through the service hatch, where she apparently found Melissa McCall alone and taken her as her second of three guardian sacrifices.

A short time later, Scott finally made it to the roof, where Deucalion informed him that his mother and Jennifer were gone before offering to help him get Stilinski and Melissa back in exchange for Scott's help in defeating Jennifer.

In Alpha Pact, Stiles had to slap Derek in the face several times to wake him up after Jennifer knocked him out; once he regained consciousness, he immediately asked where Jennifer was, and was horrified when Stiles admitted that she had left and captured Melissa while she was at it.

Once they got out of the hospital, the Beacon Hills packs scattered around town to figure out their next move while Jennifer figured out her own. Although Jennifer and her machinations plan a primary role in the episode, she does not appear on-screen very often; instead, the audience sees what everyone else is planning to do against Jennifer, which will be detailed as follows:

In Derek's loft, Derek and Isaac were sitting at the bedside of the still-unconscious Cora, where Isaac asked Derek if she was dying because of what Jennifer did to her. Derek, frozen with self-doubt and self-hatred, admitted that he didn't know, which angered Isaac enough to begin to rant to him; Isaac reminded Derek that while Scott and Stiles were investigating the Darach and trying to save her targets before they were sacrificed, Derek was having a sexual relationship with Jennifer, the actual killer.

He went on to point out that she had killed nine people at last count due to her ritual to gain power before accusing Derek of doing nothing while his packmates Erica and Boyd were killed and while his sister is dying. Derek promised to help the others as soon as he healed Cora, but Isaac insisted that there was no time before effectively leaving the Hale Pack for good and heading to the Argent Apartment to plan their next move against Jennifer, viciously adding that Derek could "stay there and perfect the art of doing nothing."

At the Argent Apartment, Allison and Stiles have just arrived with Argent, where they are recapping the events of the previous night and trying to come up with a strategy for the future. Allison and Stiles believed Argent would be Jennifer's last choice for her guardian sacrifices, and though Argent was skeptical due to his problematic parenting and Hunter choices in recent weeks, Stiles brought up the fact that someone had spray-painted "ARGENT" on the elevator at the hospital, which he felt was a warning. Allison guessed that the warning was from Marin Morrell, who she believed was trying to help them in her own way without jeopardizing her position as the Alpha Pack's Emissary.

Stiles began to worry about what Jennifer could be planning next, since the lunar eclipse was only two nights away, but Argent urged him to keep the faith, as Jennifer's tactics indicated that she was still in the process of moving all of her metaphorical chess pieces into place before she makes her final move. Allison once again reiterated that Argent was one of these pieces, which led him to state that they then should not wait around for her next move.

He reviewed with them all that everything she had done up to this point was on one of the Telluric Currents, which meant Melissa and Stilinski had to be somewhere on those currents as well. When Stiles remained silent, Argent reminded him that they couldn't do this without his help, and Stiles confessed that he was scared to go after her before asking what the difference was between Argent and his own father. Argent pointed out that he was a Hunter with a 45, adding that Jennifer may have been able to heal from a shot to the leg, but that he doubted she could recover from having half her skull blown off in a head shot.

The topic changed to the fact that the sacrifices typically happened in a different place than where the bodies were found, and the three narrowed their options as to where Stilinski and Melissa would be sacrificed by Jennifer to three placesā€”the school, the animal clinic, and the First National Bank. Stiles, getting an idea, asked if Jennifer would use a location more than once, and Argent guessed that she would only do so if it didn't work the first time she tried, causing them all to realize that they must be at the bank, since that was where Scott saved Alan Deaton from being a healer sacrifice in Currents.

Optimistic that they now had a likely location, Stiles pointed out that they were still going to need to find people to help them. Allison proposed that they involve her best friend Lydia Martin, and when Argent, who was out-of-the-loop, asked what Lydia could do, Stiles briefly explained her yet-unknown supernatural status that allowed her to find some of the bodies of the sacrificed victims in the last few weeks. Argent, confused, asked if she was psychic, but Stiles, not yet knowing that Jennifer had identified Lydia as a Banshee, cryptically stated that she was "something."

A short time later, Isaac Lahey arrived, admitting that he had no idea how to shoot a gun or a crossbow before pointing out that he was getting pretty good with his claws, implying that he was ready to join the fight and help them defeat the Darach.

Allison, Argent, and Isaac went to investigate the bank vault, where Argent led them to believe that Melissa and Stilinski were being held. However, when they got there, they found that the vault was empty, and when Allison and Isaac started to get suspicious, Argent shocked Isaac with a taser wand before handcuffing Allison to the nearby door.

Just then, Jennifer arrived and declared this to be a real sacrifice, revealing that Argent had set this up so he could be captured, believing that he would be able to free Stilinski and Melissa once he was reunited with them. Argent announced that Jennifer was not only operating on the Telluric Currents, she was in sync with them, which is what led him to realize that he would have to be captured in this place.

Stiles and Lydia had met at the Martin House, where Lydia expressed disbelief at the fact that Scott would truly join the Alpha Pack just to save their parents. Stiles believed Lydia's powers could help them, and Lydia acknowledged that she knew she was "some kind of, like, human Geiger-counter for death" before reminding him that she didn't know how to turn her powers on and off like that yet. She was about to remind him that Jennifer tried to kill her because she was a Banshee before she cut herself off, realizing that her surprise at learning Lydia was a Banshee meant that she wanted to kill her for another purpose, and finding that purpose out could be the key to stopping her.

At Derek's loft, while Derek and Peter were discussing the pros and cons of Derek performing the ritual to donate his Alpha spark to Cora in order to heal her, Peter speculated that Jennifer may have wanted Derek to do this all along and manipulated events to ensure that he did, because she knew that Derek sacrificing his power meant he would have to work with Jennifer to guarantee a win against the Alphasā€”Jennifer needed Derek on her side, and if Derek gave up his Alpha status, he would need Jennifer on his side, too.

It was soon revealed that the "guardians" were being kept in the Nemeton's root cellar when Argent woke up after having been bludgeoned by Jennifer. He, along with Melissa and Stilinski, were each tied with rope to their own wooden support beam to ensure that they wouldn't escape. When Argent began wriggling around, the other two were forced to tell him that he watched Jennifer take his ankle knife, the knife and switchblade in each of his sleeves, and the taser in his jacket pocket, so his plan to rescue Melissa and Stilinski from the inside was quickly going off the rails.

Just then, Jennifer appeared and walked down the staircase to the cellar to speak with the three guardians. Noting Argent's head wound from Jennifer's attack earlier, she began to dab at the blood dripping from his hairline with a cloth before bringing up the Argent Family and how truth can be altered by legend, adding, "when it's not actually the metal silver that kills Werewolves, but the family. She then informed him that she was planning on borrowing his family's original Hunter Code-- "We hunt those who hunt us"ā€”in her plan to get revenge on the Alphas, even going so far as to point out that she has been hunted herself.

Argent became offended and retorted that they didn't have the same cause because he doesn't kill innocent people, but Jennifer simply argued that this was why they called it a "sacrifice." She claimed that she wished it worked a different way, but it didn't-- all they could do was be content in the knowledge that they were making the world safer for their children, though she sneered at Melissa before adding, "Well, most of them," implying that her son Scott, as a current (albeit reluctant) ally of the Alpha Pack, would not be so lucky.

Meanwhile, after Stiles had a panic attack from the stress of wondering if Stilinski had already been killed, they got the idea to search Morrell's office for clues, where they eventually found Lydia's sketches of a tree that led Stiles to realize Lydia was drawing the Nemeton, and Jennifer wanted to kill her because she was afraid. They then decided to go see Deaton, another Druid, for advice on how to proceed. Deaton advised them about a ritual they could do to find the Nemeton, though performing it would be dangerous because they'd be giving the Nemeton sacrificial power that another Darach could tap into it and use it at will, and it would leave a darkness around their hearts that would never go away.

Despite the risks, the three decided to perform the ritual with Allison, Scott and Stiles being drowned in ice baths by Isaac Lahey, Alan Deaton, and Lydia Martin, respectively. Additionally, Derek decided to perform the Alpha spark sharing ritual in order to heal Cora, causing him to revert to Beta status.

In Lunar Ellipse, Jennifer was first mentioned by Scott, after he, Allison, and Stiles awakened from the surrogate sacrifice ritual and determined the location of the Nemeton, when Scott insisted that he had made a deal with Deucalion to find Melissa, Noah, and Argent, and did not believe they could beat Jennifer without the help from the "Demon Wolf" and the other Alphas.

Both Stiles and Isaac were certainly against it, believing it was like making a deal with the Devil, and the latter incredulously asked the others "So we're gonna trust him-- the guy that calls himself Death, Destroyer of Worlds-- we're gonna trust that guy???" Deaton gave them an ideaā€”while they absolutely should not trust the "Alpha of Alphas", they could use him as bait in their plan to defeat Jennifer once and for all.

In Derek's loft, Kali arrived to make good on the ultimatum she gave to Derekā€”killing his Betas to join the Alpha Pack until that night's full moon, or she would return to kill them all. However, upon destroying the loft's security system box, she was pissed to find Derek gone and Lydia standing there, alongside Ethan, who had believed in Marin Morrell's story about Deucalion killing Ennis in cold blood and defected from the Alphas.

Aiden, who had arrived with Kali, began turning on her as well when she threatened the life of his girlfriend Lydia. Before Kali and Aiden's argument over the latter's loyalties could escalate into violence, Jennifer, in an all-black outfit, made a dramatic entrance, falling from the skylight, shattering it to many shards, and landing on the ground in a defensive stance. She stood up to her feet and addressed to Kali and Aiden, looking smug "So, who wants to go first?"

Kali wasted no time in partially-transforming with her fangs and claws out and lunged for Jennifer, attempting to kick and punch her, but Jennifer, empowered by the 12 sacrifices she committed through the whole season, easily dodged every single blow from Kali before landing a palm thrust at her former Alpha, which she sent Kali fly and fall onto the floor in a heap.

Aiden, seeing Kali going down as his chance to advance, also let his glowing red eyes, fangs and claws out and tried to claw at Jennifer but the Darach dodged his strike and defeated him even faster. This made Ethan and Aiden to take off their shirts and jackets and they started to form Voltron-Wolf, in hopes of defeating her much easier, but they were not quick enough, allowing Jennifer to grab each of the twins by the head and send them to opposite sides of the room with her overwhelming superhuman strength.

Jennifer saw Kali getting back up and slowly swaggered toward her, successfully dodging a flip-kick from the Alpha, before she had her former friend cornered and staring at her in the eyes. Jennifer encouraged Kali to take a good look at her face, asking her if she had any idea of what was necessary to take such a normal appearance after the damage Kali did to her actual face. Kali, despite her earlier statement that she loved Jennifer and having showed remorse for what she had done to her, nonchalantly replied that she did not care about her ruined face and the identity crisis that she had suffered, leading Jennifer to declare "It takes power. Power like this."

Jennifer demonstrated the kind of power that she obtained by using her telekinesis to lift the shards of glass from the broken skylight in the air as the thunderstorms she had created rage above her. Whipped by the wind, Kali was struggling to say something, which briefly made Jennifer think that it was possible for Kali to apologize for what she did after all, but her hope disappeared when Kali finally bellowed "I SHOULD HAVE RIPPED YOUR HEAD OFF!!!", infuriating Jennifer that she screamed with murderous rage and made the shards impale Kali from her head to her feet. The Alpha was unable to heal from these wounds and died, falling to the floor, which made Jennifer smirk smug and proud for having finally gained her revenge on her Alpha.

Jennifer made a beeline for Lydia, who watched the whole confrontation both terrified and helpeless, but the twins were not defeated yet. Sure enough, they were behind them, finally forming Voltron-Wolf, and they advanced toward Jennifer with a growl. However, they once again underestimated the Darach when she dodged their blow and grabbed them by their neck, snapping it over her should and letting them fall to the ground. Lydia gasped horrified at the sight of the dead Alphas, as the smug Jennifer quoted Coach Finstock "The bigger they are..."

Without anybody else to protect Lydia, Jennifer soon cornered the young Banshee and the frightened Lydia asked Jennifer what it was that she wanted from her. Jennifer asked Lydia to do what she could do bestā€”to scream. To get her to comply with her demands, Jennifer switched to her true and scarred form, scaring the crap out of Lydia that she screamed almost instantaneously at the top of her voice. The scream was loud enough that it managed to reach Downtown Beacon Hills, where Derek and Cora were driving to leave Beacon Hills to avoid the wrath of the Alphas, heard it and realized Lydia was in trouble. The two siblings immediately decided to head back to the loft.

Once they returned, Cora went to comfort the shaken Lydia as Derek stared at the bodies of Kali and the merged twins bleeding on the floor of his loft. Incredulous, Derek askd Jennifer if she did all of this for him, and Jennifer confirmed that she did for the two of them, adding "And for anyone who's ever been their victim." It was at that point that Derek started to lose his temper, asking Jennifer to stop talking to him like a politician and stop trying to get him to join her in her cause, forcing the frustrated Jennifer to switch of tactics.

Jennifer decided to convince Derek of the cause of someone he truly cared aboutā€”Scott. She explained that the twelve sacrifices she had committed did not give her the power necessary to kill Deucalion, as she still needed a guardian, a role that could either be occupied by the three parents Jennifer was holding captive, or by Derek himself. Derek irritably reminded her that he had no choice but to sacrifice his Alpha status to heal Cora the previous night, so he was pretty much useless to her plans.

Derek did not understand why Jennifer needed him to take down Deucalion when she killed three Alphas on her own. Jennifer remarked having already seen Deucalion at his strongest before and he was accompanied at the moment by Scott, which made Jennifer believe that she did not stand a chance against the Augmented Alpha Werewolf... unless she had Derek on her side. Despite Cora wisely warning Derek to not listen and trust the Dark Druid, Jennifer ultimately convinced Derek to help her get Deucalion at the right place and time and help her fight him off until the lunar eclipse started and stripped him of his powers for the 15-minute window, arguing "There is no decision to struggle with-- help me kill him, and the others live. Just help me."

Derek and Jennifer were in the woods, as Jennifer's phone displaying the countdown to the lunar eclipse until she received a video from Scott. In this video, Deucalion and Scott were in the Abandoned Distillery, the same place where Deucalion lost his eyesight at the hands of Gerard Argent, and behind them, there was the spiral that Ennis carved into the metal wall with his claws nearly a decade ago. Scott transmitted the following message "See this symbol? It is the symbol of revenge. You talk about balance, about saving lives... We know what you really want. And now you know where to find us.", earning a look of rage from Jennifer.

Deucalion and Scott were in the center of the distillery, awaiting for Jennifer. Scott became confused and puzzled when Derek emerged from the blowing wind with Jennifer in tow, asking him what was his idea. Derek stated that he knew it sounded insane what Scott was thinking, but, in the end, he was just trying to help his brother-in-arms. This amused Deucalion that he quipped "Ooh. Like brother against brother! How very American this is."

Deucalion then got to the point of this battle, putting his cane aside and taking off his jacket, and taunted Jennifer "Are you ready, Jennifer? Hmm? Did you gather your herbs? Pray to your ancient gods and your oak trees? Slit a baby's throat, perhaps? Should we show them why you needed to sacrifice nine innocent people, just to face me? Or is it twelve now?" as he transformed into his self-proclaimed Demon Wolf form, with glowing red eyes, dark gray skin, and ridged brow and face muscles, for the very first time, leaving Scott, Derek, and Jennifer terrified.

Derek was the first one to attack Deucalion by fully wolfing-out and attempting to claw at him, but the superior Alpha easily blocked the strikes of the newly returned Beta and chuckled in amusement. With Deucalion distracted, Jennifer tried to hit Deucalion with the same telekinetic attacks she used earlier against the other Alphas, but Deucalion was not affected at all, and grabbed both Derek and Jennifer by the throat with each hand. He released both of them moments later, and Derek once again was overpowered and thrown across the distillery into a stack of tires.

Jennifer sprinted toward Deucalion but he hit her twice, defeating her. Turning his attention to Scott, Deuc had Jennifer in his grasp and ordered Scott to kill her, but when he hesitated and stayed where he was, Deucalion used his Alpha Roar to bring the young Beta to his knees and force him to transform against his will. Deuc insisted that the parents were being buried alive by Jennifer and her connection to the Telluric Currents was creating the storm above them and told Scott that killing Jennifer was the only way to save the lives of his loved ones.

Jennifer, not wanting to die, insisted that killing her wouldn't end the chaos and told Scott that Deucalion would only make him kill the people that he loved, as it was part of his nature. Deucalion continued to attempt to sway Scott with his manipulative abilities and growled "Become the Alpha you're meant to be. Become a killer." Scott was confident that the parents were not dead yet and stated such thing, amusing Deucalion, who asked "And who's going to save them? Your friends?" Scott stood up to his full height and his eyes blazed gold as he proudly replied "My pack."

Not pleased with Scott's insubordination, Deuc rushed to Scott with his incredibly-heightened speed and held his clawed hand against the young potential True Alpha's will to give him "a little guidance" as he slowly brought him near to Jennifer. Scott stopped Deucalion and informed that he had forgotten to tell something that he learned from Gerardā€”Deucalion was not always blind. With his free hand, Scott took out some flash-bang arrowheads and threw them to the floor, blinding the three Werewolves long enough for the lunar eclipse to start. With the moon covered by Earth's shadow, the three returned to their human forms to show that their powers had been suppressed by the lunar eclipse and find that Jennifer went missing.

Minutes later, Jennifer, in her Darach appearancea and wearing a black outfit fitting for her reputation as a villain, returned to the distillery and unleashed her power upon the powerless wolves, sending Scott flying toward some palettes and smashing Deucalion's head against the cement floor over and over again. When she was about to deliver the final blow, Derek came out of hiding spot and managed to stop Jennifer from killing Deucalion.

He went on inform her that although Deucalion knew what was necessary to bring Kali into his new malevolent cause, he had never seen the state of Jennifer's face after Kali's attack on her, which convinced Jennifer into healing his blindness so he could see the consequences of his crimes. However, just as Derek intended, Jennifer lost most of her strengths by healing Deucalion's eyes that she was unable to kill him, leading her to ask Derek to kill him for her, but Derek refused, quoting his mother Talia Hale's motto "I'm a predator. I don't have to be a killer."

Derek grabbed Jennifer by the thorat and demanded her to release the guardians but, since he still only possessed regular human strength, an enraged Jennifer easily recovered and slapped Derek across the face several time after shoving him against a crate. Jennifer left him on the ground and started to set her sights back on Deucalion but Derek did not give up and lunged for Jennifer, only to be smacked against the wall multiple times, remembering how he went to high school's boiler room to save Jennifer from the savage Boyd and Cora and allowed the two to viciously claw at him until the full moon night passed.

The lunar eclipse ended and Derek's eyes flashed blue as he told Jennifer that her fifteen minutes were up, before gaining enough strength to send her flying to the center of the room. In a last resort, Jennifer threw a handful of Mountain Ash into the air, creating a perfect circle around herself that neither of the three Werewolves could cross. The furious Jennifer replied that since Derek was no longer by her side, she was going to sacrifice the guardians, as well as their rescuers (Allison, Isaac, and Stiles), to be granted the power necessary to kill them all, especially Deucalion as a "Demon Wolf".

Intent in saving the lives of his loved ones, Scott initially pondered about trying to cross the barrier and Jennifer told him that what he was thinking into doing was futile, as she knew that he had already tried to do it once while trying to save Deaton, and doubted that he would manage to succeed this time. Scott did not listen to her and pushed his hands against the barrier and the distillery became lit by the blue energy caused by the more and more Scott made in his attempt to break through the barrier.

Jennifer maintained her poker face but started to grow concerned when Scott managed to get his right hand through the barrier and his willpower, combined with his determination to save the ones he loved, caused his eyes to change from gold to an Alpha's red, and he managed to put his right foot inside the barrier, scaring Jennifer that she took one step back, before he succeeded to put his left foot, breaking the barrier and creating a blast of energy that caused Jennifer to lose her balance and fall to the ground.

Derek and Deucalion were impressed and incredulous by such feat, but Jennifer was astonished and asked Scott how he was capable of doing something other supernaturals couldn't. Scott emphatically stated that he was an Alpha now, and threatened to kill Jennifer if she didn't stop the storm, not caring about what it could do to the color of his eyes. Inspired by Scott's ascension to True Alpha status and reminded of humanity, Deucalion decided to save Scott from ruining his new rank and slashed Jennifer's throat himself, stopping the storm and saving the lives of the parents and Scott's friends.

At the end of the episode, Jennifer, despite her wounds, was seen crawling toward the Nemeton, just like she did after Kali attacked her, and begging for the Nemeton to save her life once more. Just when she was about to place her hand on the tree to absorb the power from the surrogate sacrifice ritual performed by Allison, Scott and Stiles, a clawed hand stopped her and flipped her over onto her back, exposing her slashed throat, only for her to burst into dark laughter when she realized that the person in front of her was Peter Hale and remarked "Of course it's you."

Jennifer pointed out that Peter came out on top whereas everybody else suffered, and Peter would be able to become an Alpha again by killing Scott and stealing his Alpha powers. Peter looked satisfied and impressed that Jennifer figured out his plan and repeated the word "Again?" in an insulted tone of voice until he raised his clawed left hand and delivered a second slash to Jennifer's throat, truly killing her for good as he roared "I AM THE ALPHA! I'VE ALWAYS BEEN THE ALPHA!! at the top his lungs as Jennifer's lifeless body laid below him.

In 'A Novel Approach,

In The Last Chimera,

In The Sword and the Spirit,

In The Wolves of War, the Anuk-ite took Jennifer's appearance when attempting to kill Derek Hale in the hallway of the high school. When Derek heard her voice and footsteps approaching him, he immediately extended his fangs and claws and squeezed his eyes shut, knowing that making eye contact with the Anuk-ite would result in him being petrified into stone.

The Anuk-ite tried to bait Derek into opening his eyes, using Jennifer's voice, appearance, and mannerisms to try to trick him into thinking she was real. "Jennifer" asked, "Don't you wanna look at me?" before then wondering he was going to let "them" kill her again (in this case, Deucalion and Peter Hale, who attempted to kill her and actually killed her in Season 3A's Lunar Ellipse) and if he was going to leave her for dead again. When "Jennifer" asked him if he was willing to give her a second chance, Derek growled that she wasn't real.

"Jennifer" went on to ask him if he thought she sounded real, followed by once again asking, "Can't you look at me?" When he senses how close "she" is to him, he stumbled backward in an attempt to avoid her as "she" begged him to open his eyes and look at her. When she added, "Please?", Derek became angry and tried to blindly take a swing at her, only for "Jennifer" to use her superhuman agility to catch his wrist before he can make contact with her. "She" asked, "Don't you want to look at me one more time? Don't you want to remember me?" and held his arm until his claws finally retracted, allowing her to more easily put his palm against her heart and slowly tug it down her abdomen.

"Jennifer" then asked if he wanted to remember them together, and when she saw that he had stopped fighting against her hold, her voice took a demonic-sounding tone (much like when the half of the Anuk-ite had taken the form of the Beta Werewolf Quinn) as she demanded him to open his eyes, and as soon as Derek's eyes opened from fright, he made eye contact with the Anuk-ite, who had taken his true form and petrified him into stone, though Derek was eventually returned to his normal state after Scott and Stiles defeated the Anuk-ite with Mountain Ash.

Though Jennifer did not appear either physically or in the form of an hallucination or illusion throughout the movie, she was mentioned by Adrian Harris, who was her accomplice and was believed to have become her third warrior sacrifice. He revealed himself to be alive, albeit with deep bruises and scars around his neck from Jennifer's garrote, to his former students Jackson Whittemore and Lydia Martin when they were trying to save their packmates and allies from the Nogitsune's clutches. After he shot Jackson in the gut to incapacitate him, a terrified Lydia questioned her former teacher over his reasons for releasing and aiding such an evil spirit such as the Nogitsune, prompting Harris to blame Lydia, Scott, Stiles and the rest of the McCall Pack for destroying his career as a teacher and accused them of "offering" him as a sacrifice to a psychotic Druid like Jennifer, even though it was his own fault for nearly being killed by the Darach.

Once the Nogitsune and his Oni had been eliminated and Harris was imprisoned in Eichen House for his crimes against the pack, Sheriff Stilinski comforted Derek Hale's son Eli Hale during the memorial service organized to honor Derek's sacrifice and went on to describe all the torment Derek suffered throughout his life as a Werewolf. Several flashbacks were shown as proof of this, with Jennifer appearing when Derek saved her from the feral Vernon Boyd and Cora Hale and helped her stand to her feet afterwards during the events of Season 3's Fireflies.

Personality[]

What Julia's personality prior to Kali's attack was like is unknown. However, after the attack, when she took the name Jennifer Blake, she became obsessed with teaching the Alpha Pack a lesson about the consequences of all of the death and destruction that they had wrought, though this ire was predominantly focused on Deucalion, for starting the pack and for ordering Kali to kill her, and Kali herself for actually listening to him. Over time, this hatred ultimately extended to all Werewolves, as she suggested to Noah Stilinski, Melissa McCall, and Chris Argent that her mission was to protect all humans from the threat of the lycanthrope species.

She was so dedicated to this mission that she was willing to sacrifice the lives up to fifteen innocent humans (although she ultimately only killed twelve) in order to gain the power necessary to kill even a so-called "Demon Wolf" like Deucalion. She justified this by stating that such was the nature of the word "sacrifice," and she truly believed that the virgins, warriors, healers, and philosophers she sacrificed had voluntarily lent her their power for the sake of taking down the Alphas.

In addition to her overwhelming need for vengeance against those who harmed her, Jennifer had an immense sense of self-preservation, which she used to stay alive against all odds after Kali nearly killed her, and which would have saved her life a second time, had Peter Hale not interfered in her plan to use the power of the Nemeton to survive. She was also incredibly insecure about her mauled appearance, using at least two massive crow sacrifices to create a glamour in order to take the appearance of a young, beautiful, and unblemished woman; the only times she revealed her true face was to either conceal her identity or to scare her targets.

Physical Appearance[]

Julia's face prior to Kali's mauling was only seen briefly in a photograph in her medical records, but she appeared to be an average-looking white woman in her late 20s to early 30s who was of medium stature with brown hair and light blue eyes. After the attack, her face was scarred beyond recognition, causing her to lose all of her hair on her head and making her mouth appear crooked.

Meanwhile, in her new identity as Jennifer Blake, she created a glamour to make herself appear as a beautiful woman in her mid-late twenties who had the same general attributes she possessed beforeā€”medium to tall height, lean build, and medium brown wavy hair with blue eyes. However, unlike her true appearance, her Jennifer glamour was completely unblemished with pale white skin and rosy cheeks.

At work, she dressed in the typical business-casual clothing of a school teacher, preferring to wear pencil skirts and blouses with heels, or occasionally a nice pair of black or blue slacks. Once her true identity as the Darach was revealed, Jennifer began wearing clothes befitting a villain, with leather pants, black fishnet-style shirts over black crop tops, high wedge sneaker boots, and, in her last appearance, a handmade black leather dress and bustier.

Powers and Abilities[]

Jennifer's powers are still only vaguely understood as a result of the secretive and mysterious nature of Druids and Darachs. However, she gained additional supernatural powers from the four sets of trio sacrifices she performed, as well as from her connection to the telluric currents running throughout Beacon Hills. These powers will be explained and categorized as best as is possible below:

  • Darach Powers: As a Darach, otherwise known as a Dark Druid, Jennifer possessed several supernatural powers.
    • Telekinesis: Jennifer demonstrated the ability to move objects solely with her mind during a battle with Kali, Ethan, and Aiden when she gestured with her hands and made and entire wall's worth of broken window glass rise in the air. She had perfect control over all of these shards of glass, and was able to make each individual piece spin in the air before pointing them directly at Kali. She ultimately used this ability to forcefully shove the pieces toward Kali like bullets, where they embedded in her body from head to toe and killed her. ("Lunar Ellipse") She was also able to use her telekinesis to cut a piano wire during the high school recital in order to kill the pianist as her third philosopher sacrifice; this use of her power was so precise that she was able to do it while in another room and without seeing the piano and the pianist. ("The Girl Who Knew Too Much")
    • Mountain Ash Mastery: Like all Druids, Jennifer had the ability to create mountain ash barriers simply by throwing the ashes into the air and willing them into the shape she wanted. A notable example of her using this power was in her battle against Deucalion and Scott McCall the night of the lunar eclipse, when she threw a handful of mountain ash from inside her pocket into the air, creating a perfect and unbroken circle around herself to prevent any Werewolf from coming near her. This may be connected to her telekinetic power. ("Lunar Ellipse")
    • Zoopathy: Jennifer demonstrated the power to control or influence animals, as evidenced by the fact that she managed to force hundreds of crows to commit suicide by flying into windows on at least two separate occasions, one of which was before she became a Darach. ("Tattoo"), ("The Girl Who Knew Too Much") She also seemed to be able to control insects to an extent, such as the moths she made fly into Dr. Hilyard's car and coat the exterior windows of the Beacon Hills Animal Clinic ("Currents") and the scarabs she made appear on the tent where Emily and Caitlin were camping out in the woods (while some of these bugs appeared to be illusions, some of them were also real).("Fireflies")
    • Astral Projection: Jennifer was shown to be able to project her spirit to anywhere, which she demonstrated when she appeared in the flames of a gasoline-based explosion at the Glen Capri Motel just after attempting to kill Scott McCall, Stiles Stilinski, Lydia Martin and Allison Argent, ("Motel California") and again when she appeared in Dr. Hilyard's car to cause her to nearly crash his car. ("Currents")
    • Extrasensory Perception: Jennifer demonstrated an ability to know information about events where and when she was not present as they occurred. For example, she knew that Scott McCall had tried and failed to break through the mountain ash barrier she put around Alan Deaton while she was trying to kill him as one of her healer sacrifices despite not being present (as she was being held captive at Derek's loft) and not being told about what happened by anyone present. ("Currents") She was also able to know and keep track of what was happening in the auditorium of Beacon Hills High School during the memorial recital while being in another room of the school during her attempt to kill Lydia Martin so she would know exactly when to remotely snap the piano string and kill the recital pianist. ("The Girl Who Knew Too Much")
  • Mass Crow Sacrifice Powers: After performing at least two mass animal sacrifices in which she willed hundreds of crows to commit suicide by flying through glass windows, Jennifer gained additional powers.
    • Illusion Casting: Jennifer possessed the ability to cast illusions in the minds of those she intended to sacrifice, which she typically used in order to terrify her victims, thus making them easier to kill. She demonstrated this power on several occasions, such as when she made Heather believe that the wine bottles in her basement were being shot at her and shattering on the floor, bloodying her feet in the process ("Chaos Rising"); when she made Emily believe that a horde of beetles were crawling over her before she was seemingly consumed by them ("Fireflies"); and when she made Tara Graeme believe that she was seeing her own dead body under the shower in the boy's locker room at the high school. ("The Girl Who Knew Too Much") Jennifer could also use this power to induce auditory hallucinations, such as when she made the band teacher, Adrian Harris, and Lydia Martin hear what became known as the "Darach chanting" song. ("Unleashed"), ("The Girl Who Knew Too Much")
      • Glamouring: Jennifer possessed the ability to use her illusion casting ability to put a glamour over herself so that others would see her as a beautiful and unblemished young woman rather than a scarred and mutilated victim of a Werewolf. She had perfect control over this power, and was able to switch back and forth between her true appearance and her glamoured appearance at will. ("Tattoo"), ("The Girl Who Knew Too Much"), ("Lunar Ellipse")
  • Five-Fold Knot Sacrifice Powers: After sacrificing three humans for each category of virgins, warriors, healers, and philosophers, Jennifer was given powers that related to each of the categories.
    • Virgin Powers: After sacrificing Heather, Emily, and a lifeguard wearing a promise ring, Jennifer gained powers associated with virgins. Though these powers were not explained in detail, it was implied by Jennifer than these sacrifices augmented her glamouring ability, and possibly even aided her in her seduction of Derek Hale.
    • Warrior Powers: After sacrificing Kyle and the band instructor, Jennifer gained powers associated with warriors. This power manifested as super strength that was equal or greater to that of an average Alpha Werewolf, allowing her to crush a Sheriff's badge in the palm of her hand, break Scott McCall's sternum with a single palm-thrust to his chest, ("The Girl Who Knew Too Much") forcefully shove Kali down a long hospital corridor ("The Overlooked"), and snap Ethan and Aiden's merged Alpha form's neck over her shoulder. ("Lunar Ellipse")
    • Healer Powers: After sacrificing three doctors at Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital, Jennifer gained the ability to mystically heal her own wounds at a rapid rate, as well as healing the wounds of others. She used these powers to heal all of the wounds Derek sustained in his battle against the Alpha Pack ("Motel California"), to restore Deucalion's eyesight so he could see the damage Kali did to her face ("Lunar Ellipse"), and to heal her own thigh after she was shot by Sheriff Stilinski ("The Girl Who Knew Too Much"), all of which occurred in the span of several moments. However, this ability appeared to have its limits, as she was unable to heal her slashed throat without assistance from the Nemeton, which is what gave Peter Hale the opportunity to kill her. Using this power to heal serious wounds, such as Deucalion's blindness, also weakened her significantly, which caused her to be unable to use any of her powers or abilities for at least several minutes.
    • Philosopher Powers: After killing Tara Graeme, Mr. Westover, and a recital pianist, Jennifer gained the powers associated with philosophers. Like her virgin powers, the powers gained from philosophers were only vaguely defined, but Jennifer implied that she gained supernaturally-enhanced knowledge and strategy for use in battles, including Intuitive Aptitude. She even stated that she should have started with philosophers instead of virgins so she could have used the strategy skills to better enact her sacrifices to avoid getting caught for a longer period of time. ("The Girl Who Knew Too Much")
    • Telluric Current Connection: Because Jennifer performed all of her abductions and subsequent sacrifices on the telluric currents of Beacon Hills, she became so in-sync with them that she was even able to tap into their power. She used this connection to perform terrakinetic and atmokinetic feats, such as creating intense thunderstorms that knocked out power to the town and earthquakes that caused the Nemeton's root cellar to collapse. ("Lunar Ellipse") She was able to use her atmokinetic powers to create a gust of wind to blow a lit flare into a puddle of gasoline in an attempt to kill Scott McCall, Stiles Stilinski, Lydia Martin and Allison Argent. ("Motel California")

Abilities[]

In addition to her supernatural powers, Jennifer also possessed several abilities as well. She was extremely knowledgeable about supernatural and mystical phenomena, which allowed her to perform her sacrifices and connect to the telluric currents, as well as to understand the power of the Nemeton and identify Lydia Martin as a Banshee after hearing her scream. She was also an English teacher, which made her very knowledgeable about literature, as evidenced by her references to various novels such as Heart of Darkness, Romeo and Juliet, and The Crucible, among other books.

Weaknesses[]

Though Jennifer possessed numerous supernatural powers, including the power to rapidly heal herself, she was still mortal, and thus was susceptible to death, injury, and illness just like any other human. She was also shown to be vulnerable to mistletoe, which disrupted her glamouring power and made her true form visible to those around her, as evidenced when Scott McCall doused her in crushed mistletoe to reveal her true identity.

Etymology[]

  • Julia: Julia is a feminine given name that is the Latinate form of the masculine name Julius, which was a Roman family name derived from a founder, Julius, the son of Aeneas and Creusa in Roman mythology. However, the name's etymology may possibly derive from the Greek iĪæĻ…Ī»ĪæĻ‚ (ioulos), meaning "downy-haired, bearded," or alternatively, from the name of the Roman god Jupiter, the equivalent to the Greek Zeus, which is interesting given the character Julia/Jennifer's eventual power to manipulate the weather and create thunderstorms like Zeus.
  • Baccari: Baccari is a patronymic or plural form of the name Baccaro, which has origins in southern Italy. It is suggested that the name means "dweller at or near where asters grow," with asters being a genus of flowering plants whose petals form the shape of a star.
  • Jennifer: Jennifer is a feminine given name which is a Cornish form of Guinevere or Gwenhwyfar, which was adopted into the English language during the 20th century. It is said to mean "white enchantress" or "the fair one," which is an interesting choice in name for a character who used dark magic to glamour herself into a fair, beautiful woman. Variants of the name in other languages include: Guenevere, Guinevere (Welsh mythology); Jenifer (Cornish); GueniĆØvre (French); Ginevra (Italian); Gaenor (Welsh).
  • Blake: Blake is a surname or given name originating from the Old English language, though om what name it was ultimately derived is unknown. It could have come from blac, a nickname for someone who has dark skin or hair, or from blaac, a nickname for someone with pale hair or skin. It is also the name of one of the fourteen Tribes of Galway in Ireland, making it an apt choice of surname for Jennifer Blake, a dark Druid. The combination of her self-given new identity is an interesting one, given that it combines the light with the dark that made up her own nature as well.

Trivia[]

  • It has been speculated that when Peter killed Jennifer, he absorbed the power she gained from the five-fold knot sacrifices, which is what made him so much stronger than he used to be throughout the rest of Season 3 and Season 4; before this point, he made several comments about how his resurrection at the end of Season 2 decreased the strength of his Werewolf powers to below that of even average Betas.
  • There has also been speculation in the fandom that the relationship between Jennifer and Kali was more than just a platonic friendship due to comments made by Kali in The Overlooked.
  • Adrian Harris appears in the Teen Wolf Movie, revealing himself to be alive, though it is unknown whether he convinced Jennifer to spare his life or if he managed to escape without her noticing.
