ā€” Theo Raeken and Tracy about Josh Diaz after his death in The Beast of Beacon Hills

Tracy Stewart was a supporting character in Season 5 of Teen Wolf. She was the daughter of public defender Mr. Stewart and an unnamed woman. Tracy was also a senior at Beacon Hills High School. She was first introduced when she was having a counseling session with Natalie Martin in Parasomnia, where she admitted that she suffered from night terrors. After reading Gabriel Valack's book about the Dread Doctors, Tracy began to experience hallucinations of repressed memories she had of being transformed into a Chimera through their experiments. After snapping out of her hallucinations, the Dread Doctors killed Tracy by injecting her with an overdose of modified mercury, stating that her condition was terminal as a result of her body's rejection of the transformation.

Not long after her body was taken to the Nemeton by Jordan Parrish, Tracy was resurrected by Theo Raeken using a green serum created by the Dread Doctors. Afterward, Tracy immediately joined Theo's Chimera Pack, and proved herself to be the only member who never once questioned her place in the pack or felt conflicted about the things that Theo wanted them to do, as she seemed genuinely happy to be working with him and enjoyed using her powers against others.

Unfortunately for Tracy, her newfound confidence and powerful nature was short-lived, as she ultimately met her death a second and final time in the penultimate episode of Season 5B, when Theo killed her to steal her Chimera powers in hopes that her Kanima venom would allow him to kill the Beast of Gevaudan and steal its powers as well.

Tracy was a member of the Chimera Pack and was a senior at Beacon Hills High School.

Early life[]

Virtually nothing about Tracy's life prior to her introduction in the series is known. Her father worked as a lawyer (specifically a public defender) ("Parasomnia"), ("Dreamcatchers"), but since her mother was not seen or mentioned during her time on the series, it is possible that her parents were either divorced or her mother had died from unknown causes.

Tracy seemed to be an average student in school at best, judging by Natalie Martin's comments about needing good recommendations to get into college ("Parasomnia"), and she had seemingly been suffering from night terrors for a long enough period of time that she was seeing a psychiatrist to help deal with them. ("Dreamcatchers"). At some point in her life, her father defended a felon on death row, which led her to learn the details of how lethal injection worked. She would later use this lesson in practice after her resurrection, when she used her Kanima venom in the exact same manner in order to kill the prison transport driver whose life she had failed to end during her bout of night terrors and hallucinations following her transformation into a Chimera. ("Codominance"), ("Dreamcatchers")

Throughout Teen Wolf[]

In Parasomnia, Tracy was first seen at school in the guidance counselor's office, where she was talking to Natalie Martin about her night terrors, which had been causing her to not get enough sleep. Tracy explained that she usually doesnā€™t remember what causes her terrors, and then went on to tell Natalie what happened in her most recent nightmare, which she happened to remember despite her previous remark about her dreams.

It was a stormy night when Tracy awoke to find a crow pecking against the skylight of her bedroom. Though the crow eventually flew away, she saw one of the Dread Doctors outside her window shortly afterward. She turned away to turn on the lamp next to her bed, but by the time she looked back at the window, they were gone. She was awoken once again when she felt a breeze over her face and realized that her skylight was open. She got up and grabbed a chair to use as a stool to close the skylight, but then one of the Dread Doctors grabbed the chair leg and pulled it out from under her, causing her to fall onto the floor.

Back in the guidance office in the present, Tracy told Natalie that she was found by her father on the floor and that what she dreamed couldn't have been real because the skylight was sealed years ago to weatherproof it. Just as Tracy was getting ready to leave, she threw up a troubling amount of black blood and a crow's feather over Mrs. Martin's desk. Tracy was later seen in the hallway as she walked to her locker. She saw a shadow that resembled one of the Dread Doctors moving across the locker, but once she opened it, the shadow disappeared. However, soon afterward, the lights in the hallway appeared to shut off, which caused her to panic as she imagined that one of the Doctors was crawling out of a nearby locker and dripping black blood onto the floor. She quietly reminded herself that none of this was real until Lydia Martin, who seemed worried by how anxious Tracy was, came up to her and snapped her out of her hallucination.

Lydia, concerned for Tracy, went to her mother Natalie to discuss options to help Tracy, during which time Natalie explained that she had suggested that Tracy go home earlier, but that Tracy declined, as she didn't want to miss her first day of senior year. She went on to insist that Tracy needed "professional help" (i.e. not help from Lydia), which gave Lydia an idea.

Tracy was then seen at the Stewart House with Lydia and Deputy Jordan Parrish, who Lydia had called to check out Tracy's bedroom to make sure everything was okay, in hopes that Parrish's professional evaluation could bring her some comfort. Parrish asked Tracy to confirm her earlier statement that the skylight had been weatherproofed, but looked alarmed when he checked out the skylight and found that it was no longer sealed shut. To make matters worse, Parrish stepped up on a chair to see the roof through the skylight and was horrified to find a flock of dead crows on the roof with their black feathers scattered everywhere, though he kept this detail secret from Tracy and only informed Lydia about it after they had left the house.

That evening, Tracy's father, Mr. Stewart, boarded up the skylight to reassure Tracy that her night terrors regarding it opening would be over. He went on to inform her that he had to go to the courthouse to talk to a judge about one of his clients and assured her that he wouldn't let anything happen to her. After he left, Tracy settled into bed and went to sleep, though it was clear that she was nervous.

Meanwhile, Parrish, who had offered to guard Tracy's house after agreeing with Lydia that something was going on with her, kept watch in his cruiser outside the house. Unfortunately, he was too busy looking for his binoculars to get a better look to notice when Tracy, who was sleepwalking, sneaked out of the house. As he focused back in on the house with his binoculars, Tracy stood behind his car, staring at him with a dead-eyed expression before she turned and slowly walked away.

She then unconsciously walked to the Dread Doctors Operating Theater, where she later woke up on the dirty tile floor and was immediately terrified by where she found herself. When the Dread Doctors slowly approached her, Tracy only became more scared, especially when she saw the leader, The Surgeon, carrying a huge syringe gun. Just like earlier, Tracy began muttering to herself that none of this was real and that she was just dreaming, but The Surgeon robotically replied, "No, Tracy, you're awakening."

Before Tracy could react further, The Pathologist and The Geneticist pinned her face-down on the floor and injected her in the neck with a large amount of modified mercury. Once they were finished, Tracy suddenly remembered all of her repressed memories, including the fact that she had been partially transforming when Lydia snapped her out of her hallucination earlier that day and had clawed her locker door, as well as the fact that she had attacked and eaten the flock of crows on her roof the previous night. In the present, Tracy's eyes glowed gold like a Beta Werewolf, and her teeth and fingernails extended into fangs and claws as she looked up at the ceiling and roared.

In Dreamcatchers, Tracy, who was running wild after her latest encounter with the Dread Doctors, had made her way downtown, where she climbed on top of the transport van headed for the federal prison that contained Tracy's father, a driver, a deputy, and Donovan Donati, who was about to be locked up for breaking and entering. Clear viscous fluid (Kanima venom) began to drip down from a hole in the roof of the van, and within moments, the driver began experiencing paralysis, beginning with an inability to move his hands to steer the wheel and progressing to be unable to take his foot off of the gas or hit the brakes. The driver, who was now having difficulty breathing as well, believed himself to be having a heart attack and tried his best to stop the van at Mr. Stewart's urgent request, but was unable to move his foot to the brake, forcing Mr. Stewart to take control of the vehicle from the passenger seat and stop it himself.

Suddenly, Mr. Stewart noticed Tracy standing outside the driver's side door, her claws and fangs out, as she punched through the window and mauled him and the other officer in the car, leaving Donovan to flee for his life with his hands still cuffed together. Tracy's father looked at her in horror as Tracy, who was covered in blood and whose eyes were starting to glow gold, echoed his earlier words to her-- "Don't worry, Daddy. I won't let anything hurt you... ever again" before mauling him to death and running away. When the Dread Doctors caught Donovan and injected him with modified mercury as well, it became clear that they intended for Tracy to be used as a distraction to free him from police custody.

The next day, it was revealed by Jordan Parrish that she also killed her psychiatrist the previous night after killing her father and the officer, though the driver managed to survive, albeit with serious injuries. Early that morning, the McCall Pack, joined by Mason Hewitt, met in the bus bay at school to discuss how they were going to stop Tracy from harming or killing anyone else, as they believed her to simply be a recently-turned Werewolf who couldn't control her powers, which was made even more difficult by her night terrors. Malia Tate voted to kill her, a stance that was seemingly supported by Stiles Stilinski, but Scott McCall insisted that they needed to catch her first before they made any further decisions.

Tracy ended up showing up shortly afterward in Ken Yukimura's history class, where she sat in a desk in the back of the room next to Hayden Romero. While Liam Dunbar, who was also in the class, left to inform Scott about her appearance at school, Hayden, who had noticed that Tracy was barefoot, covered in dirt, and had no books or papers with her, asked Tracy if she was okay and if she was even supposed to be in there; this was an apt question, since Tracy was a senior in a sophomore-level class. Tracy became so agitated that she began gripping the sides of the desktop so hard that she snapped it in half in her attempt to stay in control.

Just then, Liam pulled the fire alarm to create a distraction so that he and Scott could get Tracy out of school without anyone noticing. When Hayden tried to get Tracy to leave with her, she roughly grabbed Hayden by the wrist so hard that her claws started to pierce through her skin and caused her to bleed. Scott and Liam returned with Mr. Yukimura to try to talk Tracy into calming down and letting go of Hayden, but Tracy was in the middle of a full-blown hallucination and night terror which caused her to believe that the three were the Dread Doctors and trying to hurt her. After some convincing, Tracy finally let go of Hayden and weakly stated, "They're coming... They're coming for all of us" before she fainted and fell on the floor. A moment later, a large pool of modified mercury began forming around Tracy's body as it drained from her mouth.

Scott, Stiles, and Malia took advantage of the fire drill to sneak the still-unconscious Tracy out of the school while Liam, Lydia Martin, and Kira Yukimura decided to try to find the Alpha who turned Tracy, as they still mistakenly believed her to be a true Werewolf who was simply suffering from night terrors in combination with her transformation. They brought Tracy to the Beacon Hills Animal Clinic in hopes that Alan Deaton could help them figure out what was wrong with her. During his physical assessment, Deaton noted that she had an allogeneic skin graft, or a skin graft from an outside donor, on her left shoulder blade, and that her heart rate was at roughly 250 beats per minute. Malia asked Deaton if he could "give her something," but when he replied that Tracy didn't appear to be in any pain, Malia pointed out that she meant that he should give Tracy something to kill her, as she (and Stiles) were concerned that she would wake up and try to kill them before making her escape.

This led Deaton to put up a Mountain Ash barrier around the exam room so that Tracy would be unable to escape, although this also meant that neither Scott nor Malia would be able to leave either unless Deaton or Stiles broke the barrier. Deaton went on to try more tests to assess Tracy's condition, including using a scalpel to test her accelerated healing ability. However, he found that Tracy's skin was impenetrable to the surgical steel blade and actually caused the tip to snap off completely without leaving a wound on Tracy herself. Scott and Stiles stepped aside to discuss a text Scott had received from his mother, Melissa McCall, a nurse who had treated the driver of the prison transport van and had determined that he didn't have a heart attack as initially believed-- he had been paralyzed.

Just as Stiles realized what Tracy really was, Deaton, who had noticed something moving under the skin of Tracy's neck and had gotten assistance from Malia in flipping her over, Tracy's back split open completely, spraying everyone around then with a brown, sludgy substance as a reptilian tail came out. Tracy's back closed itself up as she regained consciousness, and she got into a defensive position as she began to fight the others; she sliced Stiles across his collarbones with her tail before scratching Deaton on the arm with her claws, nicking Malia's wrist and cutting Scott on the neck with her tail as well. As the four fell paralyzed to the floor, Tracy miraculously was able to cross the Mountain Ash barrier with no issue whatsoever, allowing her to leave the animal clinic without interference. This confirmed what Scott and Stiles had originally suspected, which was that Tracy was somehow a Kanima, though they were still unaware of the fact that she was actually a Chimera.

Kira and Lydia, who had gone to the Stewart House to try to figure out what Tracy was doing, realized that Tracy was still in a night terror and believed that she was dreaming, and had unconsciously been attacking people who had tried to help her. This led them to realize that Tracy would be going after Lydia's mother, Natalie Martin, next, and they rushed to the Beacon County Sheriff's Station to warn her, as she had gone there to meet with Sheriff Stilinski before their date.

At the station, Natalie and Stilinski were getting ready to leave for their date when they found Deputy Clark laying slumped over her desk. She anxiously informed them that she couldn't move, and before they could react further, Kira and Lydia arrived to warn them about Tracy coming for Natalie. It was then that they saw Tracy, who was utilizing her Kanima wall-clinging power to climb across the ceiling above them, where her eyes went from Beta Werewolf gold to an orange-gold reptilian appearance.

Tracy went on to paralyze the Sheriff before setting her sights on Natalie, and when Kira took off her belt and turned it into her katana to fend Tracy off, Lydia shouted at her mother to run, which she did until Tracy used her tail to slice Lydia's side open. Natalie, upon hearing Lydia cry out in pain, turned to watch her daughter fall to the ground, though her Banshee nature prevented Lydia from being paralyzed by Tracy's venom. Kira then briefly lost control to her inner Kitsune spirit, which led her to use her katana to slice Tracy's tail off in retribution for harming Lydia. Kira then focused her efforts on putting pressure on Lydia's wounds to keep her from bleeding out, which ultimately allowed Tracy to knock Natalie out and drag her into the basement.

Since Malia was the least badly hurt of the four at the animal clinic, she was the first to recover from the Kanima venom and rushed to the station to help deal with Tracy. When she came upon Kira applying pressure to Lydia's wounds, she was so horrified that she was about to go and kill Tracy until Lydia instructed her to go save both Natalie and Tracy by reminding Tracy that she was just dreaming. Though Malia was reluctant to obey both Scott and Lydia's orders, she ultimately did what she was told by simply fighting Tracy with blunt force until she could pin her to the ground and snap her out of her night terror.

When Tracy came to, she was confused and scared as she demanded to know what was happening to her, but before Malia could explain it further, the Dread Doctors appeared. The Geneticist grabbed Tracy and held her still while The Pathologist grabbed Malia and pinned her face to the nearby wall so she couldn't interfere with their plans. The Surgeon then took his syringe gun and injected Tracy with an overdose of their modified mercury, which killed her almost instantly. The Dread Doctors then stated that Tracy's condition was terminal before they left to go upstairs and capture Donovan Donati from his holding cell.

In Condition Terminal, Scott, Stiles, Theo Raeken, Deaton and Sheriff Stilinski came down into the basement of the Sheriff Station to see Malia standing over Tracy's dead body.

After Malia assured them all that she hadn't killed Tracy and anxiously explained the masked men she saw give her an overdose of modified mercury, Deaton, who was examining the body, informed them that since she died while partially-transformed, she likely would not be shifting back to her human form, making it difficult for them to take her body into custody without the ignorant human deputies and medical professionals asking questions that they would have difficulty answering. Though the Sheriff was insistent on taking her to the morgue for an autopsy, the others managed to convince him to allow Deaton to take Tracy's body back to the animal clinic for further examination.

After Deaton's examination, he went to the McCall House, where he informed Scott and Kira that not only did Belasko have the Shapeshifting capabilities of a Werewolf with the talons of a Garuda, Tracy had the claws and fangs of a Werewolf in addition to the tail, scales, and venom of a Kanima. This led him to realize that Tracy wasn't so much turned as she was made by someone who was trying to create hybrid creatures through science rather than the supernatural.

In A Novel Approach, Scott, who was in charge of the animal clinic during Deaton's trip to Russia, received an alert on his phone that someone was breaking into the clinic, causing he and Kira to go there to investigate. Once there, they realized that Jordan Parrish had broken in and stolen Tracy's body. It was then implied that Jordan Parrish, who was in a trance-like state, had stolen her body and brought it to the Nemeton, where she was partially burned by his pyrokinetic powers.

In Strange Frequencies, Lydia, who was exposed to the Dread Doctors' powers to induce hallucinations, had a vision that Tracy was still alive and had ran toward her to beg her for her help. When Lydia asked her what she could do, Tracy told her that she needed her to scream before ripping Lydia's tongue out of her head, causing her to fall to the floor and choke on her own blood.

In Lies of Omission, Tracy's body was briefly seen at the Nemeton after Lydia and Parrish find it together.

In Status Asthmaticus, Tracy was seen once again at the Nemeton, where Theo Raeken resurrected her with the Dread Doctors' green serum, along with Hayden Romero, Corey Bryant, and Josh Diaz. Afterward, Theo informed Tracy and the others that they were now his pack, and that he was now their Alpha.

In The Last Chimera, Tracy was seen in the flash-forwards breaking into Eichen House with Theo Raeken, Josh Diaz, and Corey Bryant. During this break-in, Tracy killed at least one security guard, and she put Gabriel Valack into a choke-hold with the intention of giving the others the chance to capture Lydia Martin, who had recently been admitted to the facility and upon whom Valack had just performed trephination. While Tracy pinned Valack to the wall, Theo informed him that he had no interest in a Banshee, and was actually interested in a Hellhound.

In Damnatio Memoriae, Tracy went to Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital and walked into the room of the prison transport driver that she had paralyzed and nearly killed in Dreamcatchers. When the driver recognized Tracy and began to panic, Theo appeared behind her and pulled the call light remote out of his reach before offering to take care of the man for Tracy if she wanted.

Knowing that the driver could identify Tracy as the killer of his partner and her father, Tracy began to tell Theo the story of an instance where her father defended an inmate on death row, explaining that lethal injection worked by injecting the victim with a medication that paralyzed their diaphragm and made it impossible to breathe. While she talked, she used her claws to puncture a small hole into the driver's IV bag through which she was able to inject several large drops of her venom. Sure enough, after a few moments, the venom traveled through the IV tubing and into the driver's bloodstream, paralyzing his diaphragm and essentially suffocating him to death. Theo looked at her proudly when he saw how confidently she killed him, and Tracy looked satisfied by her actions.

Later that evening, Tracy, Josh, and Corey, on Theo's orders, attempted to attack Scott and Stiles in the underground tunnels so Theo could see how well his "Betas" held up against a True Alpha. Though Tracy was able to easily paralyze Stiles with her venom, she had much less success against Scott, who was able to easily fend off Tracy and Josh, causing them to use their respective powers on each other when Scott grabbed Tracy's wrist and shoved her claws into Josh's chest, paralyzing Josh with her venom while also being electrocuted as a result of Josh's electrokinesis.

In Codominance, Tracy and Theo were in the high school bus bay late at night, where they have tracked the newly-resurrected Beast. When she asked her "Alpha" if he saw it, Theo shook his head and stated that the Beast was too fast, leading Tracy to curiously ask for confirmation that the Beast was even there. Theo assured her that it was and warned her to keep her distance, adding that they weren't yet trying to catch it.

Just then, a loud growling in the distance caused Tracy and Theo to make their way into the school towards the source of the sound. As they rounded the corner, Theo's golden Chimera eyes flashed, allowing him to read yet another message from the Dread Doctors to the Beast that said the same thing-- "DAMNATIO MEMORIAE." Tracy wondered aloud what the Doctors were trying to tell the Beast, Theo cryptically replied that they were trying to get it to remember who it was.

This confused Tracy, who thought the Beast was just like the rest of them-- teenagers turned into pseudo-supernatural creatures, but teenagers all the same-- but Theo explained that the Doctors didn't care about that. He then revealed that the Doctors needed a vessel, since they couldn't just resurrect the Beast out of thin air; as a result, the so-called "last Chimera" was merely a body for the reborn monster. Frowning, Tracy went on to ask what would happen when the Beast finally remembered who it was, but Theo admitted he wasn't sure, though he added that the Beast probably wasn't yet aware that it returned to its human vessel during the day. Unnerved, Tracy asked if it was true what she read about the original Beast of Gevaudan-- did it really kill one-hundred and thirteen people? Theo simply smirked and stated that the Dread Doctors claimed the number was closer to five hundred.

Suddenly, they heard a combination of the Beast's growling and the Dread Doctors' mechanical skittering noise that caused them both to be on their guard. Tracy, now half-transformed with her claws and fangs, impulsively leaped towards the Dread Doctors and was quickly smacked backwards into the lockers, briefly knocking her unconscious. This left the irritated-yet-scared Theo to talk to the Doctors on his own. When the Surgeon ordered them to leave, Theo stood his ground and asked where the Beast was, but the Surgeon didn't appreciate his intrusion on their plans and reminded him that he got the pack he wanted, implying that their partnership was now over.

Theo's eyes flashed gold again as he angrily stated it wasn't enough, asking them if his eyes looked red to him before bitterly pointing out that he wasn't even a real Werewolf. However, his argument was cut off by the sound of thundering footsteps lumbering in their direction, which soon materialized into the Beast, who was carrying the severed head of one of the school's teachers in his hand. The Beast then rolls the head toward Theo's feet, causing the recently-awakened Tracy to gasp in horror as they all stare at each other for a long moment. Once it passed, the Beast roared so loudly that both Tracy and Theo fell to their knees and covered their ears from the pain. When they finally recovered from the auditory assault, they were shocked to open their eyes and find that the Doctors and the Beast had vanished.

In The Sword and the Spirit, Tracy, Corey and Josh managed to capture Deucalion off-screen. When Theo Raeken returned to the Dread Doctors Operating Theater, she was shown to be slightly injured and informed Theo that Deucalion knew why they wanted to capture him.

In Amplification, Tracy killed one of the Eichen House guards and entered the facility with Theo and the rest of the Chimera Pack with the mission of capturing Lydia Martin, a patient and Banshee who had just had trephination performed on her, believing that having her would lure the Hellhound to them, and the Beast of Gevaudan would follow right afterward. Once Tracy received the signal from Theo, Tracy grabbed Gabriel Valack and pinned him to the wall while the others prepared to move Lydia out. However, the Hellhound Jordan Parrish arrived and began to engage them in a fight.

In Lie Ability, Tracy obeyed Theo's instructions to attack Parrish despite him being in Hellhound-mode, but she was shocked to find that her Kanima venom had no effect on the fiery creature. She was then subsequently knocked against the wall and temporarily incapacitated while both Josh and Corey each tried to attack Parrish in turn with no success.

Later on, once Tracy had recovered, she either scratched or killed yet another guard and stole his radio to keep up with the lockdown going on in Eichen House. She eventually made it to the Eichen House entrance, where the McCall Pack was in the process of loading Lydia into Stiles' Jeep; this gave Tracy the opportunity to viciously claw Parrish (who was no longer in Hellhound-form) badly enough that he dropped Lydia, allowing Tracy to grab her instead. She insisted that she was taking Lydia with her, and though Scott attempted to reason with her, he was ultimately unsuccessful. Fortunately for the McCall Pack, Lydia's mother Natalie Martin had been hiding out front with one of the dead guards' taser wands and was able to electrocute Tracy to the point of falling unconscious so that Lydia could be saved and taken to Alan Deaton for treatment.

In The Beast of Beacon Hills, Tracy met with Theo, Josh, and the still-"imprisoned" Deucalion in the Dread Doctors Operating Theater, where they were discussing the Dread Doctor Mask. Tracy informed Josh that he was the only one who could safely wear the mask due to its electromagnetokinetic powers being similar to Josh's own, but Josh became uneasy when Deucalion pointed out that neither Hayden nor Corey were there at their meeting.

Theo, annoyed, instructed Tracy to paralyze him to keep him from talking, but before Tracy was able to fulfill his request, Deucalion cruelly asked her just how powerless she was before she was a Chimera, as he believed only the truly powerless are eager enough to show off their new-found power, offending Tracy, who was unable to act without proving Deucalion right. She then watched as Theo stole Josh's powers when he refused to put on the mask, giving him the power to put it on himself.

Later that night, Tracy went to the McCall House and broke the Mountain Ash barrier used to surround it and protect Malia Tate from her mother, the Desert Wolf, likely on Theo's orders, as he had worked with the assassin in the past.

In Apotheosis, Tracy helped the wounded Theo back to the operating theater after a brutal battle against the Beast of Gevaudan, laying him against the wall since he was unable to stand on his own. After a moment, the two began to make out, but she stopped when Theo groaned in pain as a result of his injuries. Tracy, worried about her Alpha, suggested that they take a couple days to heal and come up with a new plan, much to Theo's annoyance, as he believed by then, it would be too late. Tracy admitted that she wasn't like the other part-Werewolf Chimeras, as she couldn't take others' pain and would thus be unable to help start his healing process. Theo smiled and assured her that it was okay, because she could do something else for him-- unfortunately for Tracy, this meant Theo stealing her power to add it to the power he already took from Josh the previous day.

In Ghosted, Tracy was mentioned by Liam Dunbar and Hayden Romero; first when she examined a recently freed Theo Raeken's claws and realized that Theo not only lost Josh's powers but Tracy's as well, and again by Liam when Liam insisted that Theo needed to feel some remorse for killing Josh and Tracy, to which Theo retorted that he simply "put them back the way [he] found them." In Heartless, Tracy was mentioned again by Scott McCall when he was trying to convince Liam as to why they couldn't trust Theo, reminding him that Theo manipulated Liam into trying to kill him before actually killing Scott himself when his first plan failed, and adding that Theo also killed Tracy, Josh, and his own sister in cold blood.

Personality[]

ā€œ "Tell me, Tracy-- just how powerless were you before all this happened? In my experience, it's the truly powerless who are all too eager to demonstrate their new-found strength." ā€
ā€” Deucalion about Tracy in The Beast of Beacon Hills

When she was first introduced, Tracy originally appeared to be a nice and sweet girl who was very shy and quiet and who suffered in silence from night terrors that required her to see the guidance counselor and a psychiatrist. However, after her resurrection, she became a different person, both due to the darkness inside of her as a result of being brought back to life and the fact that Theo actively encouraged her to relish in this darkness. This was evidenced by the fact that, after joining Theo's pack, Tracy killed several people of her own free will. It was Deucalion who pointed out that Tracy must have felt defenseless and weak prior to becoming a Chimera, and he then suggested that it was this defenselessness that made Tracy enjoy the power she gained as a Werewolf-Kanima hybrid and use it to hurt others.

Physical Appearance[]

Tracy is an attractive young woman with tanned, olive-toned skin, long brown hair, and almond-shaped brown eyes, as well as a tall, toned physique. Prior to her first death, she dressed in a feminine, girl-next-door style in jeans and cardigan sweaters. However, after she was resurrected, she put blonde highlights in her brown hair and began dressing in a more trendy fashion to reflect her new, confident personality.

Powers and Abilities[]

As a Chimera, a human who has been scientifically given the powers of two supernatural species, Tracy possessed some of the abilities of a Werewolf and a Kanima. However, since Chimeras are not actually supernatural beings like true shapeshifters, it is possible that Tracy was not as strong as most supernaturals, since Theo, a fellow Chimera, said that Chimeras are more like "cheap knockoffs" of true supernaturals and thus their powers may be inferior in some ways. The powers that Tracy exhibited on the show are as follows:

  • Super Strength: As a Chimera, Tracy possessed superior strength that was powerful enough to break through her sealed-shut skylight, punch through car windshields, and easily maul humans. This was a power that served Tracy well during fights with humans and supernaturals alike.
  • Super Speed: As a Chimera, Tracy possessed superior speed that allowed her to run faster than even the most athletic human.
  • Super Agility: As a Chimera, Tracy possessed enhanced agility, allowing her to easily dodge attacks and blows and perform gymnastic and acrobatic feats without training. This power also extended to her reflexes, allowing her to dodge small projectiles like bullets and catch larger projectiles like arrows before they could hit her.
  • Super Durability: Like her Werewolf counterparts, Tracy possessed a superior level of durability to blunt force trauma, allowing her to be thrown against the floor and walls without sustaining serious injury. However, like her Kanima counterparts, Tracy also possessed an astonishing level of durability to open wounds as well, making her skin nearly impenetrable with conventional weapons; when Alan Deaton attempted to test her healing ability by cutting her arm with a scalpel, the surgical steel blade broke after making contact with her skin, preventing him from even leaving a scratch. However, Tracy's skin was not completely impenetrable to supernatural weapons, as the claws of other Chimeras and true shapeshifters seemed to be able to wound her, such as when Scott forced Josh Diaz to impale Tracy with his electrified claws in a fight to avoid being hit himself, or when Theo shoved his claws into her back to steal her powers as he killed her.
  • Super Senses: Due to being a Werewolf-Kanima Chimera, Tracy possessed heightened senses of sight, smell, and hearing. With this sight, she was able to see in darkness and across large distances, and her Kanima-eyes could presumably perceive supernatural phenomena that was otherwise imperceptible to human eyes, such as a Kitsune's aura or the Nemeton when it was shielding itself. With her heightened sense of smell, she could track others by scent and identify the chemosignals in scents to determine emotional state. Finally, with her heightened sense of hearing, Tracy could hear whispered conversations from outside of a building and could anticipate attacks by listening for footsteps.
  • Accelerated Healing: Though Tracy's highly-developed enhanced durability prevented her from being wounded in many ways, she could still be harmed by stronger supernatural creatures. However, her accelerated healing ability allowed her to quickly heal from these wounds much faster than an ordinary human would be able to heal. This healing ability also meant that she was immune to all human diseases and conditions, and she could not become intoxicated by alcohol or other drugs due to the fact that her body healed the damage too quickly. It is likely that this healing factor would have also afforded her an extended lifespan and slowed aging if she had not been killed by Theo.
  • Shapeshifting: As a Werewolf-Kanima Chimera, Tracy possessed an interesting shapeshifting ability. Early in her transformation, Tracy demonstrated that she had glowing gold eyes, claws, and fangs that made others believe that she was a Werewolf. However, this ability eventually developed to the point where Tracy's golden "Beta" eyes eventually turned into golden-orange Kanima eyes, and she began to grow scales on half of her body (to represent her half-Kanima nature) as well as a tail that could mold itself to her spine when not in use. Unfortunately for Tracy, her tail was cut off by Kira Yukimura with her katana, leaving her with only a small stub of a tail. Despite these Kanima characteristics, Deaton made it clear that Tracy's claws and fangs were still those of a Werewolf.
  • Wall Clinging: Due to her Kanima side, Tracy was able to cling to walls with her hands and bare feet, allowing her to walk up walls and hang from the ceiling to aid in her attack of others. She demonstrated this ability at the Beacon County Sheriff's Station, when she attacked Sheriff Stilinski, Valerie Clark, Lydia Martin, Natalie Martin, and Kira Yukimura.
  • Kanima Venom Production: Due to her Kanima side, Tracy was able to produce a venom from her tail and claws, which she could then use to paralyze others by scratching them with those limbs. Once exposed to the venom, the victim would then be paralyzed from the neck down for anywhere between a half hour and several hours, depending on the victim's healing ability and how much venom to which they were exposed. This venom could be "milked" from her claws and put into a syringe for others to use, and when humans were given the venom intravenously, it would paralyze their diaphragms and effectively smother them to death. However, supernatural creatures who were given the venom intravenously would simply just be paralyzed for several hours due to their heightened healing abilities, as evidenced when Hayden Romero injected Deucalion with Tracy's venom.
  • Mountain Ash Immunity: Like all Chimeras, Tracy was immune to the effects of rowan wood and its incinerate form, mountain ash, due to the fact that she is a human who had supernatural powers bestowed upon her using science rather than science or mystical energy. As a result, she could not be trapped within a circle of it or prevented from entering an area warded with it, and she could handle it like any other human.

Weaknesses[]

Though Chimeras in general don't seem to have as many weaknesses as true supernaturals, Tracy was not shown to be fully invulnerable. For example, Tracy appeared to have a weakness to electricity, much like real Werewolves, which was evidenced on three separate occasions. On the first, Tracy and her packmate Josh Diaz, a Chimera with electromagnetokinesis, were fighting the True Alpha Scott McCall when Scott grabbed Tracy's clawed hand and shoved it into Josh's chest; Josh's electricity shocked and weakened Tracy while her Kanima venom paralyzed Josh, effectively defeating both in one shot. The second time, Tracy was knocked out with a high-voltage taser wand wielded by Natalie Martin at Eichen House, and the third time, Tracy was once again weakened by electrokinesis, this time by Theo Raeken, who had stolen Josh's powers and used them against Tracy to weaken her enough to kill her and steal her powers as well.

Additionally, Tracy's Kanima venom was not effective against everyone, and since she relied on this venom in battle, this could be considered a weakness. For example, Tracy's venom didn't work when she fought against Lydia Martin (who, as a Banshee, was immune to most supernatural phenomena), nor did it work on Jordan Parrish (who, as a Hellhound, a being connected to Banshees, was also immune to the venom). When Theo used Tracy's venom against Sebastien Valet, otherwise known as the Beast of Gevaudan, it also proved ineffective, indicating that, had Tracy survived to battle the Beast in person, her venom would not have worked against him either. Though the venom worked on Malia Tate, she was able to heal remarkably quick and defeated Tracy in hand-to-hand combat.

Etymology[]

  • Tracy: Tracy is a unisex given name that was taken from a Norman French place name whose meaning was "domain belonging to Thracius." Thracius itself comes from an Ancient Roman name meaning "of Thracia," a region in southeast Europe that is now divided between Greece and Turkey. Though the name was originally given to men, it later became popular for woman after it was given to a female character in The Philadelphia Story (1940), Tracy Lord. Tracy is also sometimes used as a diminutive of the given name Theresa, which is believed to have Greek origins, derived from either the word ĪøĪµĻĪæĻ‚ (theros), meaning "summer," ĪøĪµĻĪ¹Ī¶Ļ‰ (therizo), meaning "to harvest," or the name of the Greek island of Therasia, west of Santorini.
    • Variants of the name Tracy in other languages include: Terese (Basque, Danish); Tereza (Bulgarian, Czech); Terezija, Tena (Croatian); Terezie (Czech); Teresa (Danish, Finnish, German); Theresa, Therese (Danish, German); Theresia (Dutch, German); Tess, Thera, Trees (Dutch); ThĆØrĆ©se (French); TerĆ©zia, Teca, TerĆ©z (Hungarian); Teresinha (Portuguese); Teresita (Spanish); Tessan (Swedish).
  • Stewart: Stewart is a variant of the Scottish occupational name and masculine given name Stuart, possibly of pre-7th century origin. It is derived from the Old English word stigeweard, with the prefix stige- meaning "hall" and the suffix -weard meaning "guardian" or "warden;" together, the name Stewart means "household guardian," and it was given to a person who acted as a steward, an administrative official of an estate, particularly for royal households.

Trivia[]

  • Since Kanimas are said to seek a master, it is possible that the reason why Tracy has been so loyal to Theo Raeken in the aftermath of her resurrection is because her gratitude toward Theo for bringing her back has caused her to see him as a master.
  • Tracy was the first person known to have read Gabriel Valack's book The Dread Doctors, which is what caused her terrifying hallucinations and flashbacks in Dreamcatchers.
  • In The Beast of Beacon Hills, Tracy helped Corinne into the McCall House so the assassin could kill Malia Tate, since Tracy was immune to the Mountain Ash used to ward the house.
  • In Apotheosis, it was revealed that, despite Tracy being part-Werewolf, she did not possess the power to absorb pain from other living beings like real Werewolves, Werecoyotes, and the rest of the other part-Werewolf Chimeras like Theo and Hayden Romero have.
  • Judging by the sketches on the walls of Tracy's bedroom, it is likely that Tracy was a skilled artist.
  • Tracy is quite similar to Erica Reyes, as both were shy and insecure before becoming much more confident due to their respective transformations.
