Flashbacks and Hallucinations are often seen in Teen Wolf to represent a character's past or thoughts, and are sometimes caused by supernatural forces.

  • In "Strange Frequencies", Lydia, Malia, and Scott all experience frightening hallucinations brought by the Dread Doctors. Lydia hallucinates having her tongue ripped out of her mouth by Tracy Stewart, Scott hallucinates being choked to death by Kira Yukimura (Kitsune), and Malia hallucinates being stabbed through the neck and arms through the floor.
  • Purple wolfsbane causes intense and terrifying hallucinations on Werecoyotes.
  • Lydia suffers chronic hallucinations after bitten by Peter Hale throughout Season 2 in order for him to come back to life.
  • Jennifer, as the Darach, caused a girl named Emily to have hallucinations that scarab beetles were crawling all over her before she was captured.
  • Stiles's resurrection was causing him to develop acute dyslexia, and Stiles started hallucinating that the words were dripping off the page on the textbook and subsequently had a panic attack.
  • Throughout Season 4, Liam Dunbar is traumatized and continues to hallucinate Berserkers everywhere around him, sometimes in the place of real life people.

  • Theo suffers from flashbacks and hallucinations of his time in his underground prison. This was first indicated in Heartless, and Memory Found.
  • Stiles has a flashback of a repressed memory of his mother attacking him as a result of her dementia causing her to develop a very strong case of paranoia and dissociation in Required Reading.
  • In "Frayed", the episode uses a non-linear timeline, with flashbacks scattered among the present-day scenes.
