ā€
ā€” Derek Hale and Scott McCall about rebuilding the Hale Pack in Shape Shifted

The Hale Pack was a centuries-old Werewolf pack that had been led by a number of different Alphas over the course of its existence, including (but not limited to) Talia Hale, Laura Hale, Peter Hale, and Derek Hale. The earliest known Alpha of the Hale Pack was Talia Hale, who led the pack during the late 20th and early 21st century until January 2005, when she and the majority of her family and pack were killed in the Hale House Fire set by Kate Argent and her cohorts. ("Wolf Moon"), ("Co-Captain"), ("Code Breaker")

Afterward, the status of Alpha fell to Talia's eldest daughter Laura, though whether she naturally inherited the Alpha spark upon Talia's death or gained the power through other means remains unknown. ("Co-Captain") However, the only survivors of the fire were Laura, her younger brother Derek (who was at school with Laura at the time of the fire), Talia's younger brother Peter (who suffered 3rd degree burns over more than 75% of his body and had gone into a coma while his body slowly healed), and Laura and Derek's youngest sister Cora Hale (who was believed to have perished in the fire but who actually escaped and, believing her family to be completely dead, fled to South America), leaving Laura with no pack to lead. ("Magic Bullet"), ("Fireflies"), ("Unleashed")

As a result, the Hale Pack, though technically existent, was inactive until January 2011, when Laura was lured back to town upon receiving news that a deer was found dead with a spiral (the Werewolf symbol for revenge) burned into its fur, as she was interested in investigating the appearance of Werewolves in her hometown. ("Pack Mentality"), ("Heart Monitor"), ("Code Breaker")

Peter, who had awakened from his coma but still needed more power to fully heal, was revealed to be the culprit when he killed her in the woods, absorbing her powers and becoming the Alpha himself. With his new power, Peter, knowing that he would need to increase his pack's numbers to be powerful enough to get his revenge against the arsonists who set the Hale House Fire, set his plan in motion by giving Scott McCall the Bite and turning him into a Werewolf. Despite the fact that he killed Laura, Peter still managed to briefly convince Derek that her death was an accident in order to get his nephew to aid him in his mission. ("Wolf's Bane"), ("Wolf Moon"), ("Co-Captain")

However, his reign as Alpha did not last long, as Scott informed Derek of the truth about Laura's deathā€”Peter and his nurse, Jennifer, purposely lured Laura to Beacon Hills so he could steal her power. With help from Allison Argent, Stiles Stilinski, and Jackson Whittemore, Derek and Scott were able to defeat Peter, with Derek giving Peter the killing blow and taking his Alpha power for himself. ("Code Breaker")

Derek's first act as Alpha was to give Jackson the Bite; however, though Derek did it under the guise of thanking him for his help in defeating Peter, in reality, he was hoping that it would kill him, as he saw Jackson as a liability. ("Code Breaker"), ("Venomous") Unfortunately for Derek, Jackson immediately rejected him as an Alpha, insisting that he had his own agenda that didn't involve following Derek's orders and stating that Derek lacked "outstanding leadership qualities." ("Omega") He also began seemingly rejecting the bite, but it would eventually be revealed that, instead of turning into a Werewolf as intended, he had become a mutated shapeshifter known as a Kanima and quickly became subjugated under the control of his Kanima Master, Matt Daehler, rather than becoming a Hale Pack member. ("Abomination"), ("Venomous"), ("Raving"), ("Party Guessed")

Shortly after Peter's death, Derek heard rumors that the Alpha Pack was coming to Beacon Hills to see him upon learning that he, as the supposedly last living Hale, had ascended to Alpha. Knowing that they would try to recruit him to their ranks, Derek began building his own pack to stand against them by giving the teenagers Isaac Lahey, Erica Reyes, and Vernon Boyd the Bite, all while continuing to try to get Scott, who was then technically an Omega, to join them as well; although Isaac, Erica, and Boyd all eagerly joined Derek with no resistance, Scott continued to reject Derek as an Alpha as well, fearing that he would not be able to continue his relationship with Allison Argent if he was associated with Derek. ("Master Plan"), ("Omega"), ("Shape Shifted"), ("Ice Pick")

Derek's reign as Alpha did not go well due to him having little to no support structure or guidance to rely on - the older members of his family being either dead or, in Peter's case, untrustworthy. Alpha Pack members such as Kali and Ennis believing him to simply be the ringleader to a bunch of "stupid teenagers." Former Hale Pack Druid Emissary Alan Deaton remarked that Derek was not a particularly competent Alpha due to not trusting people; however, this was a rather ironic statement as Deaton did not attempt to guide or advise the new Hale pack, instead working with Scott on a separate plan behind Derek's back. ("Fury"), ("Master Plan"),

After the Alpha Pack's arrival, Derek's pack was joined by the newly-resurrected Peter ("Party Guessed"), ("Master Plan") and his long-lost younger sister Cora Hale ("Chaos Rising"), ("Unleashed"), but the deaths of both Boyd and Erica and the defection of Isaac to the still-forming McCall Pack were serious blows to Derek's self-esteem and the pack as a whole. ("Chaos Rising"), ("Currents"), ("Alpha Pact") In the end, Derek sacrificed his Alpha spark to heal Cora's mistletoe poisoning, causing the dissolution of the Hale Pack. ("Alpha Pact")

With Cora joining her old pack in South America, Derek traveling outside of Beacon Hills, and Peter alive but an Omega, the Hale Pack is currently defunct and without any Hale Alphas. ("Lunar Ellipse"), ("Smoke and Mirrors"), ("Letharia Vulpina"). However, since Derek mentioned that there are still members of his extended family living all over the United States, it is likely that other branches of the Hale Pack still exist in some form outside of Beacon Hills. ("Broken Glass")

Pack Symbol[]

Triskelion in container

The triskelion, also known as a triskele, is created through connecting three spirals together and has been known as the Hale Pack's symbol for generations. This ancient symbol can have many different meanings, such as "mother, father, child," or "past, present and future;" however, for the Hales, this symbol represents Alpha, Beta, Omega.

Triskelion on box

According to Derek, this symbol is an eternal reminder that a Werewolf can always rise to one rank or fall to another, with an Omega becoming a Beta, a Beta becoming an Alpha, and even an Alpha becoming an Omega or Beta. Derek has this mark tattooed on his back between his shoulder blades, and it has also been seen stamped or printed on numerous relics belonging to the Hales, such as the Triskelion Medallion used to train young and/or newly turned Betas to control their transformations and the Triskelion Urn made of wood harvested from the Nemeton.

Pack Mantra[]

The Hale Pack mantra was "Alpha, Beta, Omega." This mantra would be used in conjunction with the Triskelion Medallion, which they would tell their young and/or newly turned Betas was a powerful supernatural talisman that, when held while reciting the mantra, would help them regain control over their shifts, particularly on the full moons. The medallion and mantra was apparently helpful in training Laura Hale in gaining control, but it didn't work for Derek, who was instead taught by Peter to use anger and rage as an anchor.

The mantra would be recited over and over again by the young Beta as a meditation technique, with the Beta imagining themselves becoming calmer with every recitation until they finally shifted back to human. This mantra was also used by Derek with the medallion to try to teach the newly turned Liam Dunbar to gain control, but it was ineffective; in the end, it was actually the Buddhist mantra of Satomi Ito's pack-- "Three things cannot long be hidden: the sun, the moon, the truth"ā€”that helped him regain control in the end.

Members of Talia's Pack[]

Talia Hale[]

Evolved Alpha ā€

3x08 Talia Hale alpha eyes

Talia Hale was once the Alpha of the Hale Pack. She was the mother of Laura, Derek and Cora Hale and the sister of Peter Hale. She was a respected Alpha in the community, due in part to her rare ability to full-shift into a true wolf, causing her to become an adviser to other Alphas in the region who they would look to for guidance in times of uncertainty. Due to her status in the supernatural community, other Werewolves often tried to earn her kindness through favors. She was, unfortunately, killed in the Hale House Fire along with the majority of her family, though her three children and brother were the only four survivors.

Laura Hale[]

Beta/second-in-command ā€

3x08 Laura Hale 01

Laura appeared to be the next in charge behind the Alpha in the Hale Pack. She even once attended one of the "Alpha summits" arranged by her mother Talia Hale, Deucalion, Kali, and Ennis. She was one of the few people that actually survived the Hale House Fire, she was at school during the time. It is believed amongst many that after Talia died, through Werewolf hierarchy, Laura inherited the Hale Alpha spark, thus becoming the new Alpha of the Hale Pack, though the means by which this occurred still remains unknown. She moved to New York with her brother Derek after the Hale House Fire and lived there for the next six years.

Peter Hale[]

Omega

Young peter

Peter Hale, in his youth, was just as cunning and manipulative as he is in the present, but had not yet killed an innocent human, as his eyes were still yellow. Peter "looked out" for his nephew Derek and even saved him from the hunters, he protected him and were close, though Derek was occasionally annoyed by him. Peter even taught Derek how to control his powers, first by attempting to use the Triskelion Medallion, which was unsuccessful, and then again by teaching him how to channel and control his anger and hatred to become more powerful.

During the time of the summit, Peter, after seeing his nephew's love for Paige, approved and considered her to be the perfect mate for Derek, and Peter convinced him into getting Ennis to bite her so that she would become a Werewolf. After Paige ultimately died from rejecting the Bite, Peter took Paige's body into the woods and scratched it up to appear as if it was an animal attack.

Derek Hale[]

Beta

3x08 Young Derek 01

When Derek was only fifteen years old, he attended Beacon Hills High School, where he was popular and played basketball; however, his responsibility to the team and his responsibility as a Werewolf from a very prestigious pack and bloodline occasionally conflicted. As a teen, Derek didn't have control during a full moon. Talia and Peter tried to get him to use the Triskelion Medallion, but it didn't work, forcing Derek to be taught to manage his transformations a different way by Peterā€”using his anger to give him power and control.

A short time before this, he fell in love with a young girl named Paige, who loved Derek in return; despite this, Derek still feared what would happen when Paige learned of his supernatural nature as a result of his uncle Peter's manipulations, and he was convinced that she would break up with him if this occurred. This allowed him to easily be convinced by Peter to arrange for Paige to be given the Bite by one of the Alphas in town for the Werewolf summit with Derek's mother Talia, as Peter insisted that the Bite is a gift that would only benefit her life. Ennis was ultimately chosen to transform Paige into a Werewolf, as he had already lost a Beta and needed a new one to fill the void.

However, when the confrontation between Paige and Ennis became violent, Derek attempted to intervene, only to find that he was too late and she had already been bitten. Unfortunately for both Derek and Paige, her body began rejecting the Bite, and when she begged Derek to ease her suffering, he mercy-killed her by snapping her neck. Unbeknownst to Derek, he had not only just taken an innocent human life (which turned his golden Werewolf eyes blue), but he had unwittingly performed a human virgin sacrifice on the roots of the Nemeton, reigniting its power and becoming the catalyst for many events that would occur in the autumn of 2011.

Sometime after Paige's death, he met Kate Argent, who, unbeknownst to him and his family, was a Werewolf Hunter and a descendant of the Argent Family that had been hunting the Werewolf species for centuries. She seduced him and they had an affair all while she gained information about him and his family. Their relationship lasted until Kate and a nearly-dozen cohorts set fire to the Hale House and killed the majority of the Hale Family. Devastated with this event and blaming himself for allowing Kate get to him and his family, Derek kept his relationship with Kate a secret from his older sister Laura, with whom he moved to New York, where they spent the next six years until Laura returned to Beacon Hills.

Cora Hale[]

Beta

3x05 Cora

Cora Hale is the sister of Laura and Derek and the niece of Peter Hale. Though it was initially thought that Cora, then eleven years old, was among the nearly a dozen members of the Hale Family who were killed in the Hale House Fire, it was soon revealed that she had, in fact, survived, and had fled Beacon Hills, believing her entire family to be dead. Not much is known about Cora during her time under Talia's leadership; all that has been revealed thus far is that Cora is the youngest of Talia's children and that she was a Beta in Talia's pack.

Even though Peter's pack was never officially formed, Peter Hale was briefly the Alpha of the Hale bloodline and his intent was to rebuild the Hale Pack and bring it back to the top and his plan included both Derek Hale and Scott McCall.

Members of Peter's Pack[]

Peter Hale[]

Alpha

1x11 Alpha peter

After being nearly burned to death in the Hale House Fire, Peter went into a coma for six years that allowed him to slowly heal but the coma also drove him insane because, as a Werewolf, he was fully cognizant and couldn't do anything else but to hear his own thoughts about how his sister Talia turned their pack into "sheep".

After six years of recovery, Peter gained enough strength and managed to kill his own niece Laura, ascending to the role of Alpha and allowing him to heal even faster. More powerful than ever, Peter began targeting every single person involved in the Hale Fire while also building his own pack as he knew he would need a pack powerful enough to aid him in avenging his family.

One night, he found the teenage Scott McCall in the woods and bit him, turning him into his very first Beta Werewolf. He wanted not only Scott in his pack but his nephew Derek as well, which he managed to do after convincing him that Laura's death was an accident because he lost control over his transformations. When Scott told the truth to Derek that Peter and his nurse and cohort Jennifer used a dead deer with a spiral in its body to lure Laura back to Beacon Hills so Peter could kill her, Derek and Scott battled against Peter and with the help of their friends, Allison Argent, Stiles Stilinski and Jackson Whittemore, they set Peter on fire, weakening him and allowing Derek to claw his throat out and usurp his position as Alpha of their pack.

Derek Hale[]

Beta

Derek returned from New York to his hometown, after he hadn't received contact from his sister, Laura, for many days. He found her body cut in half upon his arrival and believed the Argent Hunters to be the ones who murdered her, due to their tradition to cut their victims in half to prevent them from healing and surviving. Scott McCall mistakenly blamed Derek for turning him until Derek explained to him that he wasn't the Alpha but a Beta just like Scott.

After coming to an understanding, he became Scott's mentor and they worked together to find out the Alpha's identity as he taught the new wolf nearly everything about their kind, including their culture, their weaknesses, how to control their powers and how to gain control during a Full Moon, though they didn't always agree with each other's methods. Derek eventually learned that his uncle Peter was the one who killed his sister to take her Alpha status and confronted his psychotic uncle, though he failed to defeat him in a direct fight. Once Peter was burned alive, Derek finished him off by slashing his throat, taking his power and became an Alpha himself.

Scott McCall[]

Beta

S1 scott

Scott McCall was initially an ordinary teenager with an average life until one night he was bitten by the Alpha Werewolf Peter Hale. This made him faster, stronger and better in almost every way, gaining popularity and becoming co-captain of the lacrosse team. Peter turned him out of his desire to rebuild his pack and get his revenge against those who murdered his family in the Hale House Fire, and Scott was the first Beta that Peter turned since becoming an Alpha.

Scott worked together with fellow Beta Derek Hale to track the Alpha as they both had the goal to kill the Alpha but for different reasons: Scott wanted to kill him because he believed he would be cured of his lycanthropy; Derek desired to kill the Alpha to avenge the death of his sister Laura. However, Peter underestimated Scott's willpower as he attempted to get him to kill anyone involved in the Hale Fire as part of an initiation into the pack Peter was building, but Scott always fought against Peter's influence, despite their connection as Beta and Alpha.

He used his family and friends, particularly his girlfriend Allison Argent, as an anchor to maintain his humanity and fought and defended them from his Alpha's wrath. Scott originally believed "the Bite" to be a curse but he soon came to accept it as a gift like Derek told him during his first Full Moon. He used this gift to help Derek and his friends in taking Peter down.

After killing his uncle Peter to become an Alpha, Derek became focused on building his pack in hopes it would be strong enough to counter and survive against the threats they were facing. He first turned Jackson Whittemore but he seemed to be rejecting the Bite. Derek then turned Isaac Lahey, an unpopular teen with an abusive father that locked him in a freezer, and he accepted the Bite so the would be able to defend himself.

Next, he found Erica Reyes, a quiet and secretly attractive girl with epilepsy, and Derek bit her to cure her of her disease and give her a much-more healthy life. Finally, he transformed Vernon Boyd, a lonely but giant and muscular teen who didn't have any friends and hated to eat lunch by himself, giving him power and companionship. He wanted Scott as his final Beta due to him being an Omega, but Scott denied his offer until he decided to join him so they could together stop and save Jackson, whom Derek unintentionally turned into a Kanima.

In the end of Master Plan, the newly-resurrected Peter revealed to Isaac that he reason why Derek wanted to build a pack so fast was because the Alpha Pack members were heading to Beacon Hills for him. He, along with Isaac and Peter, spent the entire summer searching for Boyd and Erica, who had been captured by the Alpha Pack while attempting to leave from Beacon Hills.

When the Alpha Pack members finally revealed themselves and he was reunited with his presumed dead younger sister Cora Hale, Derek was devastated upon finding out that Erica was killed and his body was later used against his will by Kali and the twins Ethan and Aiden to murder Boyd and absorb his powers. Not long after these tragedies, Isaac, furious with Derek's decisions and actions that had only put their lives and the lives of their packmates in jeopardy, lost all faith in Derek and defected from his pack to join the pack led by newly ascended True Alpha Scott. Having lost everyone, Derek sacrificed his Alpha status to heal his sister from her mistletoe poisoning.

Derek regained his alpha status in Teen Wolf: The Movie during his final moments as he sacrificed himself to save the others from the Nogitsune.

Isaac Lahey[]

Beta

Isaac Lahey was a student at Beacon Hills High School. His older brother Camden was killed in the war and his mother died for unknown reasons, leaving Isaac with his abusive father, who would throw objects at him and even lock him in a large freezer for hours as his worst punishment. The newly ascended Hale Alpha Werewolf Derek Hale found Isaac working in the cemetery and realized that he was suffering at the hands of his father, so he gave him the choice to receive the Bite.

Though Derek informed him of the enemies that he would make, Isaac ultimately agreed and was turned into Derek's first true Beta. He lived with Derek in Railway Depot following his father's death and became the first in Derek's pack to learn control during Full Moons, by using the memory of his father before he became an abusive man as his "anchor". He was the only Beta left in Derek's pack after his packmates Erica Reyes and Vernon Boyd decided to flee in order to find a safer pack and battled against the Kanima and Gerard Argent with Derek and Scott McCall.

Once the Alpha Pack arrived, Derek, afraid that the Alphas would end up getting Isaac hurt or even killed, kicked Isaac out of his loft, going so far as to abuse him the same manner as Mr. Lahey used to. Isaac moved to the McCall House and became close friends with Scott while his loyalty slowly switched to him and his growing pack.

After many lost battles against the Alpha Pack and the deaths of Boyd and Erica, Isaac rejected Derek as his Alpha and left in favor of joining Scott's pack after he ascended to True Alpha Werewolf status. He helped Scott and his new pack in their war against the Oni demons and the dark Kitsune Nogitsune that possessed their packmate, Stiles Stilinski, until the death of his new girlfriend and Scott's ex-girlfriend Allison Argent by an Oni made him leave Beacon Hills for France with her father Chris Argent after the Oni and the Nogitsune were killed. He elected to remain in France even after Argent returned to their hometown.

Erica Reyes[]

Beta ā€

Erica in library

Erica was an ordinary human girl and a Beacon Hills High School student that suffered from a severe case of epilepsy, which made her life miserable as she was bullied by her peers and she came to suffer a seizure that was so bad that it caused her to urinate her pants, an incident that was filmed and put on YouTube, destroying her self-esteem and self-confidence and leading to her reputation as an outcast.

However, her life changed when she met then-Alpha Werewolf Derek Hale and went through the transformation into a Werewolf to be finally free of her sickness, even after Derek made her aware of the threats that she would face. Her newly gained lycanthropy gave her a new sense in fashion and personality that she never had in her life and she pledged her loyalty to her Alpha Derek while growing close to her fellow Betas Isaac Lahey and Vernon Boyd.

After several battles and injuries while dealing with the Kanima and the Argent Hunters, Erica and Boyd decided to leave Derek's pack to find a better one and attempted to flee from town until they had the misfortune of running into the Alpha Pack, who abducted them as well as Derek's younger sister Cora Hale to get Derek to join their pack. After spending nearly four months in the vault of First National Bank, Erica decided to fight for her freedom and engaged in a fight with Kali but the malicious Alpha came out on top and left Erica to die in front of her friends and fellow hostages. Her body was locked in a supply closet afterward until found by Allison Argent and laid to rest by Derek.

Vernon Boyd[]

Beta ā€

2x11 Boyd Wolf eyes

Vernon, mostly known as "Boyd", attended Beacon Hills High School and registered for the Air Force ROTC program while also obtaining a job at the ice rink. His shy personality combined with his low-class family turned him into a loner unnoticed by others and he would eat lunch by himself. He met then-Alpha Derek Hale and accepted his offer of lycanthropy to have people who cared about him, even after Scott McCall warned him that a lycanthrope's life was much more complicated than he thought.

In the pack, Boyd was treated like Derek's second-in-command due to his brutal strength, combat skills and his silent yet incredibly intelligent personality and came to develop a close relationship with Erica Reyes, which quickly turned more into a borderline romantic bond. When Boyd and Erica realized Beacon Hills was no longer safe for them due to the number of Hunters, they left together to find a new pack in a less-intense location; unfortunately, they stumbled upon the Alpha Pack in the woods, got captured and were held captive along with the long-lost Cora Hale in the abandoned First National Bank for the entire summer.

Boyd sorrowed over the death of Erica after she died while fighting against Kali but he and Cora were eventually rescued by Derek and Scott, allowing them to return to the pack. When Kali believed Derek to be the killer of her packmate Ennis and warned that she would come after him, Boyd created a trap in Derek's loft to electrocute the Alphas but they disabled the power and sabotaged their plan.

During the battle between Derek and Kali, Boyd jumped into the fight to help his Alpha gain the upperhand but this resulted in him getting electrocuted along with Derek and Kali, the latter of whom ordered Alpha Twins Ethan and Aiden to help her force Derek to impale Boyd with his claws, knowing that he would be too weak to heal from his injuries. This act made Derek accidentally steal Boyd's power and witness through his memories how Kali killed Erica. Before he died, Boyd comforted Derek and stated that the sensation he got from running wild during the last full moon was worth it.

Scott McCall[]

Beta

Following Derek's ascension to Alpha status, Scott turned his focus to him because Derek had begun turning several of Scott's classmates into Werewolves and Scott attempted to dissuade him from rebuilding his pack but he was unsuccessful, leading Scott to try to convince Boyd in not accepting the Bite but he was too late. Scott and Derek were initially antagonistic towards each other during most of Season 2.

Derek offered Scott to join his pack on several times but Scott refused such offer to continue his relationship with Allison Argent until he had no other choice but to work with Derek in effort to stop the Kanima, who turned out to be Scott's fellow co-captain Jackson Whittemore. Derek was unaware that Scott only joined his pack to gain information for the Argent Family patriarch Gerard Argent, who threatened to kill him and his mother Melissa McCall if he did not cooperate in his plan to kill Derek and his pack, and was not even aware that Scott planned to double-cross Gerard by tricking him into consuming Mountain Ash pills and then force Derek to bite him, so he would reject the transformation into a Werewolf. When his plan worked and Gerard was incapacitated, Scott told Derek that while he was an Alpha, he wasn't his Alpha.

Even after leaving Derek's pack, Scott helped him battle against the newly arrived Alpha Pack, whose leader, the self-titled Demon Wolf Deucalion, desired to recruit not only Derek but also Scott due to the latter's potential to become an extremely rare True Alpha Werewolf. Derek and Scott's relationship only improved when Scott finally ascended to True Alpha status while Derek gave up his Alpha powers to heal his sister Cora Hale and returned to Beta status, with Derek becoming a more patient and kind mentor to Scott and his friends.

Cora Hale[]

Cora Hale is Laura and Derek's younger sister and lived with her family in harmony up until 2005 when Kate Argent orchestrated the Hale House Fire that killed the majority of the Hale Family. Derek, Laura and their uncle Peter, the latter of whom sustained severe body burns that pushed him into a coma, believed that Cora had died in the fire but in reality, she somehow managed to escape and fled from Beacon Hills. Believing herself to be the sole survivor of the Fire and assuming that everyone else had perished, including Derek, Peter and Laura, Cora traveled all the way from her hometown to South America, where she lived with another Werewolf pack for the next six years.

Around early summer 2011, Cora heard rumors about a new Hale Alpha creating a pack in Beacon Hills, convincing her to return to her hometown to check it out. The Alpha Pack came across her and locked her up in the First National Bank vault with Vernon Boyd and Erica Reyes, both of whom were bitten and turned by Derek, whom the Alpha Pack sought to add to their ranks. Derek and his ally Scott McCall broke into the bank and found Boyd and Cora sometime after Erica was murdered by Kali but due to spending four months locked in a vault made of Hecatolite, they lost control and nearly killed their packmates; however, they were trapped inside the high school after being released from the vault and returned to normal once the full moon night passed. Cora participated in every move against the Alphas but all of their plans backfired and one of them ultimately led to Boyd's death, an event that left Cora, along with Derek, heartbroken.

Devastated by the loss of Boyd and Erica, Cora attacked Aiden and attempted to kill him for his actions against her, her friends and remaining family members but her plan failed and Aiden could have killed her had Scott, Stiles Stilinski and Aiden's twin brother Ethan not saved her. Jennifer Blake, the Darach committing human sacrifices throughout Beacon Hills, poisoned Cora with mistletoe to ensure that Derek would have to team up with her in order to take down the Alpha Pack and she came close to death.

In a selfless and desperate act to save his sister, Derek transferred his Alpha spark to her, allowing her to heal from the mistletoe and this process demoted Derek back to a Beta, disbanding their pack. After the Alpha Pack was destroyed and the Darach was killed, Derek agreed to take Cora back to South America for her to rejoin the pack she found there and to ensure her safety from the Calavera Family of Hunters, who made Derek and Peter believe she was a shapeshifter known as La Loba. It was revealed in the Season 3's finale that the Huntress Kate Argent, a newly turned Werejaguar, was the one the Calaveras were looking for.

Trivia[]

  • The Hale Pack is primarily made up of Werewolves, though there have been references to unnamed human pack members in the past.
  • There are four Hale Alphas whose identities are known, but since the Hale Family has existed for centuries, there are presumably numerous more Alphas whose identities are yet to have been revealed.
  • Since the beginning of the series, there has been speculation amongst fans that Laura Hale may have inherited her Alpha status from her mother, Talia, after Talia's death, suggesting that Alpha power can be passed down through bloodlines or ranks within a pack.
